Amapiano is a popular music genre that stems from the popular music genre known as house music, and for the past couple of years it has been dominating the South African music industry and it is starting to also make waves internationally.

 

 

 

Most South African music artists have migrated to this music genre and are currently having fun with it, and also securing the bad while they at it. Most of the artist that have challenged them selves and joined the amapiano community, are house music Dj’s and also Hiphop artists, and they are doing the most.

Those that have opted to remain loyal to their original content and make music they are used to doing and also cater for their fans, have to work twice as hard just to remain relevant and to produce music that can compete with that of amapiano. Currently the hiphop artists are holding their own and doing the most with their genre as most of them are unaffected by the amapiano movement, and still have loyal fans to the genre, but the one genre that isstems currently suffering is the house music genre with less and less music being yearly of the genre.

One DJ that has felt the effects of the amapiano movement is popular house music DJ Prince KayBee and he has broken his silence about it. In a post he spoke out about how the fact his album was flop and didn’t work out all due to amapiano. He also says that he was playing at a club two weeks ago and a girl approached me asking when am I playing it and also why am I not dancing like Waffles. He said all this after a fan asked him a question about his album on social media.
