Popular actor in identity theft storm

Another popular South African actor has become the latest celebrity to fall victim to an identity fraud scandal.

Zolisa Xaluva has issued a warning after some scammers created a account that is scamming people.


 

 

 

 

Xakuva is well known after having appeared in many local productions such as Generations, Scandal, Gomorra and lately Kings of Joburg.

Some Twitter users who have allegedly been scammed, the verified account with the handle @RealZolisa has set up a WhatsApp based agency named Lakey Media.

They claimed that the account promised to help people get TV jobs. Victims then send a fee to the agency and end up getting scammed.

Xakuva is currently part of the cast of Smoke and Mirrors which airs every week night on free to air terrestrial TV channel etv.

He told his followers that he has no relations with the account and they should be very careful as it had swindled a lot of people.

“I have no affiliation with Lakey Media, @RealZolisa is not my account even though it is verified. I have no connection to it or the person running it. If you’ve fallen victim, I sincerely apologise, please send me your proof and we can see what we can do,” he said.
