After two decades in the music industry, Coca-Cola Popstars winners, music band Jamali will be taking the stage for their 20-Year Legacy Celebration on 5 August 2023 in Pretoria.
The dynamic Jamali trio won the Coca-Cola Popstars competition in 2003. Jamali music band is made up of three talented singers and performers including Jacky Carpede, Mariechan Luiters, and Liesl Penniken. And after winning the competition, the group name Jamali was created. According to webtickets, behind the band name, the three vocalists went on to have platinum album sales, sold-out concerts, and several music awards under their belt.
Over the past 20 years, Jamali has gained a proven track record of unwavering support and a large fan base from Mzansi music lovers. It’s no wonder that the brand lasted an incredible 20 years in the music industry. And now, to celebrate the milestone, on the first Saturday of next month, Jamali will be taking the stage in front of several fans at the Pretoria State Theatre. Presold tickets are available for R250 to R350.
Fans attending the show can expect to listen to the band’s most popular songs including Love Me For Me, Dalile, Butterflies, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Secrets, and several more. To celebrate their 20-year legacy milestone, Jamali plans to do 20 shows and had their first show already took place on 1 July.
The ladies parted ways seven years ago to pursue their solo careers but have always stayed connected, TimesLive reported. As they return to the stage together, they hope to be remembered for their “grind and perseverance”.
“Our legacy should be that we were one of one. Our music will remain nostalgic, and we empowered other young artists through our grind and perseverance… I think we’ve come full circle with a lot we wanted to achieve,” Luiters was quoted as saying.
