The MacG podcast and chill is said to be posing a threat to the entertainment industry for a number of reasons here’s why:

The podcast gets a huge viewing when they drop an episode as compared to the radio stations in South Africa. When the podcast drops an episode they get about 300 000+ views in a day as compared to other radio stations drive time shows only. Hence some of the radio stations have resorted to pay influences on Twitter to drag down or speak negatively about the Podcast and also the co hosts of the podcast.

The radio industry without sponsorship is useless here’s why. Radio makes more money through advertisements from sponsors, now the catch is Alot of sponsors are bailing away from radio stations because they see the next big thing is the Podcast and chill. Through that platform they happen to get more exposure from the Podcast than any other radio station or platform. And again Radio losses sponsors hence why they feel threatened by the up and rising number 1 urban podcast in the world.

 

Podcast and chill did a campaign with Noya cash a campaign that was previously with YFM for about a year or so. The only advertised one episode and their whole website crashed. That’s how big of a deal the podcast is. And more reasons why the entertainment industry feels threatened by it and try by all means necessary to bring it down.

Even went to a point of paying people 60 000 to kill their competitors. Instead of killing them they should rather consider learning and improving their platforms to get more sponsors and they would not even have to worry about the podcast in whatsoever way. But will they succeed though? The propaganda is literally spreading like wild fire out there.
