Pearl Thusi Named One Of Africa’s Most Impactful Women Well done Mama Panther!

Pearl Thusi woke up to some good news and one of the most defining moments of her career. It is good to know that one’s impact stretches beyond the borders of their own country, and that is the exact feeling Pearl Thusi had when she made it on NBC’s most impactful women in Africa’s list.

Mama Panther, as she named herself is hard at work securing the future for her children and no career is off limits for her. Despite the constant criticism she faces almost everyday on social media, the actress has her head in the game and her hard work is paying off.

Pearl went berserk on social media when she announced that she made it on NBC’s 31 Women Creating a Positive Impact In Africa. A surprised and very honored Pearl took to Twitter to celebrate and announce her achievement, “Look what I just woke up to!!! Tell your Dlozi’s to make a party with my mom and daddy!! 31 Women Creating a Positive Impact in Africa – NBC4 Washington.”

On Instagram the mother of two, sang her ancestor’s praises and recited her clan names, “Ngibonga uMvelinqange. Ngibonge abaphansi! THOKOZANI!!! oThusi, oMfene, oMlotshwa, oDlebenkomo! Angibakhohlwa oMpofana, oZulu, oMageba, oMamghobhozi, oSithole, Jobe, Matshane.”

According to their website, NBC honors African women across all sectors who are making a positive impact in their respective professions. For Pearl, they admired her contribution to the entertainment industry when she starred in Netflix’s Queen Sono, “Thusi stars in Netflix’s first original series from Africa, Queen Sono, which will showcase the real narrative in South Africa, one that embraces diversity within South Africa,” their website reads.

Apart from acting, Pearl is also a TV presenter, beauty queen, model and now musician. She has hosted shows such as Lip Sync Battle Africa on MTV, BET Africa’s Behind the Story, SABC 1’s LIVE Amp and the Comedy Central Roast of AKA. She also dabbles in philanthropy when she partnered with WWF South Africa in 2019 to help protect South Africa’s wildlife.

Pearl Thusi was at the receiving end of the backlash from South Africans following her advocacy for a united Africa. Since she has been always tweeting about the problem of xenophobia and advocating that the matter should be on top of the agenda, more than the issues faced in the US.

The #QueenSono star has been dragged in the past as far as even suggesting that she was dating a Nigerian man.

The beauty took to Twitter and thanked her “peeps in Nigeria” for always making her look best! Pearl even introduced the tweet by writing the name she was given by her Nigeria family, Ngozi. This caused a major storm to brew but she still remained loyal to her true fans by teaching them one love.
