‘Skeem Saam’ actor Patrick Seleka confesses to abusing his wife

Patrick Seleka, popularly known as ‘Katlego’ on SABC 1’s drama series, ‘Skeem Saam’ has confessed to abusing his wife, Mmabaneng Seleka.

The 29-year-old took to Instagram to talk about how he has contributed to his wife’s depression.

 

“The main reason my wife is going through her depression, I should say that all of it, is because of me. I am the reason why she has been so depressed for so long and the one thing that’s the worst is that I haven’t been there for her,” said Seleka in a now deleted Instagram Live video.

Seleka spoke about all the abuse he has inflicted on his wife.

“The reason for her to go through her depression is all the things that I have been doing in our marriage. It all started from the beginning of our marriage where I wasn’t good. I wasn’t a good person,” said the actor.

He says his behaviour even cost his wife to lose her job and she is currently on anti-depressants because of him.

“I wasn’t the right person. I was just bad, very bad, very very vey bad to her to a point where when we started, she ended up losing her job,” he said.

The actor admitted to being emotionally abusive.

“I have been very, very, very emotionally abusive, I should say, and it took me a while to see that,” he said.

Seleka also admitted to being verbally abusive.

He has now apologised.

“I am coming out to her, and to her family, and to everyone that I humbly apologise for everything that I have done,” he said.

The actor and DJ said he is determined to change and asked his wife for forgiveness.

“I will do my level best to make things right for her,” he said.
