Tshegofatso Pule's Killer Finally ArrestedThe South African Police Service (SAPS) have confirmed that they finally arrested the man who allegedly stabbed and hanged Tshegofatso Pule. The Gauteng police say that they have arrested a 31-year-old for the killing of the 28-year-old Pule. The suspected killer will only be named later on after he makes his initial court appearance.

Pule was found stabbed and hanging in a tree in the veld in Roodepoort and her murder shocked the nation and led to more calls for the country to do more to protect women and children.

She was laid to rest last week in Soweto. At the funeral, Pule’s emotional lawyer uncle vowed that he would never again defend any many who is accused of raping or killing women and children. Tumisang Katake, Tshegofatso Pule’s uncle previously represented the man who killed Karabo Mokoena. Katake told mourners at the funeral,Last Saturday I buried my cousin who was killed by a man who was meant to protect her. She was shot with four bullets by husband after they got married in February.

“On Monday morning at 3:30 am I got a call that my niece is no more.

“I’ve represented many criminals including those like the Karabo Mokoena guy. I’ve taken a pledge that if you’ve raped, killed your girlfriend or molested a child – f*tsek!” he said.Tshegofatso Pule's Killer Finally ArrestedPolice say the suspect was arrested on his way from Mpumalanga but did not give any more details.

Gauteng provincial commissioner, lieutenant general Elias Mawela applauded detectives for their swift work.

He says more arrests may be possible in the case that has shocked the country. Investigations are still continuing.

General Mawela has appealed to communities for any further information that could help police in their inquiries.

After nearly a decade of playing Rachel Kunutu, actress Lesego Marakalla has bid farewell to popular SABC 1 soapie, Skeem Saam.

According to the statement released by Skeem Saam, Lesego is leaving so she can go back to school full time. She added that she isn’t sure if she will ever return to acting.

Lesego expressed her sadness at leaving the soapie and her gratitude for all the friendships and memories made.

“I will miss my Skeem Saam family dearly. I have been with the show for 8 years and I have created some good friendships and memories!” Lesego said.

Even though Rachel, aka “Letjobana”, aka “Marothi’s Dynamite”, has been MIA for weeks now, her name and storyline have kept viewers glued to their screens trying to figure out what her end game is.

The statement neglected to share details of how exactly her departure will unfold, which will leave fans to come up with conspiracy theories until her final episode with the soapie on Friday, June 19.

The production expressed how much they will miss the actress and wished her the best of luck in her future endeavours.

“In her role as ‘Rachel Kunutu Maphuthma’, Marakalla has been one of the show’s leading young ladies, adding to the series’ sustained success over the seasons,” read the statement.
