He covered his face and wept as magistrate John Baloyi addressed him.

“You’re facing a Schedule 6 offence and have the right to seek a legal representative and apply for bail,” said Baloyi.

Malephane told the court he couldn’t afford a lawyer and would apply for legal aid.

“I need legal aid, but I will not be applying for bail,” he said.Malephane was bust on Monday in a dramatic operation carried out by Hawks officers from head office in Tshwane.

He’s accused of killing Tshegofatso, who was eight months pregnant when she met her brutal death.Tshegofatso PuleThe deceased was last seen earlier this month leaving her Meadowlands, Soweto, home and apparently going to visit her boyfriend in Florida, west of Joburg.

Her body was later found hanging from a tree with a stab wound to her left breast in Durban Deep near Roodepoort.

Tshegofatso’s uncle, Tumi Katake, said the arrest came as a relief to the family.

“This is a step in the right direction and I’m happy with the work that the police have done so far.

“We’re still in pain because my niece was due to give birth soon. I really can’t comment much about this case.“We’ll see how it unfolds, and no, we don’t know who the suspect is or if Tshego knew him,” Tshepo Bodibe, one of the men who discovered Tshegofatso’s body, said: “The image of her body is still lingering in my mind.

“On that day I was called by a friend from home after finding the body of a woman hanging from a tree.

“At the time we all didn’t know who she was. We started taking pictures of her and posted them on social media to assist her family in identifying her.”

He said they posted her pictures on Facebook and they went viral.

“She was later identified by her family on 8 June, three days after we found her body,” said Bodibe.

He and his neighbours arrived and silently protested outside court by waving their placards.“The guys from national cornered him in Hillbrow along Wolmarans Street. He tried to escape but was finally pinned down in Bruma.

“He was in a car which was full of his clothes and blankets,” said one officer.

“It looks like he was living out of the car since the crime happened so that he could evade arrest.”

Another officer said in his initial statement to the police, the suspect had said he was hired and paid, or promised, R70 000 by someone whose identity is known to Daily Sun.

Said the cop: “There will be another arrest soon. The guys are still working on a few things. They know the person who hired him and will pick him up soon.

The Fergusons Hit Back Hard At Mlamli Mangcala’s Damning Allegations Of Exploitation And Deception

Following the damning allegations made against them just over a week ago, The Fergusons have hit back hard at actor Mlamli Mangcala. Mangcala who used to play the role of Captain Sthembiso Radebe on The Queen quit the hit TV show alleging deception and exploitation by powerhouse couple and acting veterans, Connie Ferguson and her husband Shona Ferguson. The Fergusons Hit Back Hard At Mlamli Mangcala's Allegations

Mangcala alleged that his pay and allowances were so paltry to the extent that Ferguson Films was making him pay for him to appear on television. The Fergusons are normally not in the habit of responding to most of the allegations made against them. However, following Mangcala’s damning accusations, the power couple has hit back this time.

The Fergusons, through their spokesperson Lauren Neil Nel, denied allegations that Mangcala received a pay increase of only R100. They denied any wrongdoing and said that Mangcala was even paid when he had not done any work. This is not the first time that the Fergusons have been accused of exploiting actors who work for them. Last year, seasoned actress Vatiswa Ndara wrote an open letter to sports, arts and culture minister Nathi Mthethwa highlighting her experiences working for the Fergusons. The letter was not flattering to the Fergusons.

Rami Chuene was also reportedly killed off from The Queen after her relationship with the Fergusons deteriorated when she allegedly sided with Vatiswa.

Zenande Mfenyana has defended her bosses at The Queen, telling fans that she will not tolerate anyone bad-mouthing them to her.

The Fergusons have made headlines in recent months amid claims of mistreatment from actors.

In an open letter circulating on social media last week Mlamli Mangcala alleged that the producers made empty promises on his salary adjustments which resulted in him losing his car and that he was on the verge of losing his house in Cape Town as well.

Mlamli added that the Fergusons accommodated him at the Khoza Mansion, however, he said they made him “share a bed” with the caretaker.

A follower raised the matter with Zenande, who plays the role of Goodness Mabusa on The Queen, and the star made it clear that she was not here for people attacking her bosses.

“Don’t for one second assume I will entertain people bad-mouthing my bosses. So if you have something negative to say about them, don’t bring it in my mentions please. Let’s respect each other. Hands off the Fergusons,” she wrote.

Her comments come just days after actor SK Khoza slammed those who were criticising the couple.

“Take a moment and appreciate. Shout out to Shona and Connie Ferguson. Everyone is just hating on y’all. When you the best, people will talk, it doesn’t matter if you doing good or bad,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Ferguson Films spokesperson and show runner Lauren Nell denied Mlamli’s allegations in an interview on Metro FM.

She said initially the character was supposed to be for a Joburg-based actor but he agreed to take the role and manage his own travel arrangements. After he raised his concerns and admitted to having some difficulties, the company changed his contract to allow him a set monthly income.

She also denied that he was given a R100 salary increase and claimed the actor’s expenses were more than R27,000 from season two to season three.
