Shauwn is a Durban businesswoman and daughter of ANC veteran Flora Mkhize whose political connections have catapulted her into the A-listers of Mzansi and highest echelons of society. She’s known for hosting galas at her La Lucia mansion – with 24-hour security personnel on site – which are attended by the who’s who of South Africa.

In her reality show she’s living her best life post-divorce and we see her going to Home Affairs to legally reclaim her maiden name Mkhize; she’s no longer Shauwn Mpisane, wife of Sbu Mpisane. She’s getting back her identity and no longer wants to be known simply as a mother to her musician son Andile, and fitness bunny daughter Sbahle.

A quick glance at Kwa Mam’Mkhize’s Instagram account, where she appears dripping in Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Fendi, can just as easily prompt an eye-roll as a rush of envy. But Durban businesswoman and actor Shauwn Mkhize is unrepentant. “I have prayed for years for peace, it took me so long to be this happy,” she said.Last month during lockdown, Mkhize posted a video of herself leaving home in a cocktail dress, then giving a speech at what appeared to be a dinner party. And while money was a source of freedom and independence, Mkhize said her divorce last year paved the way for peace, one thing money could never buy her.“This has always been my personality, but sometimes when you are in a marriage there are things that don’t come out,” she said. “The people who I went to school with will relate to who I am now because this is who I have always been.

“It is like when you put somebody in a cage or in jail and the feeling when they come out… the life I have now is exactly that feeling. I will never trade it for anything.” Mkhize said she married too young, when she was 21, and she and her former husband grew apart.

Condolences are pouring in for South African comedian and actor Jòvan Muthray who died on Sunday. Muthray resided in Laudium, Pretoria. Circumstances around his death is unknown and his family have not released a statement yet.

According to TVSA-South Africa’s TV website Muthray is a South African actor best known for being one of the resident comedians on the SABC2 comedy variety game show #Karektas.

Muthray also had a guest starring role as Paresh in the Vuzu Amp drama series aYeYe, in 2015.

According to TVSA, Muthray was trained in acting, writing and film directing whilst studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts (BADA), from 2012-2014.He has subsequently appeared in numerous theatre productions including lead roles in Takalani, Me; The Interview, Skroothonde and Government Inspector.

He also appeared in a national advert for Wonga. He had a guest starring role as Zac in the kykNET soapie Binnelanders, making his first appearance on Monday 18 June, 2018.

Durban actor and comedian Koobeshen Naidoo said it was devastating news. Naidoo said, “To have lost such a talented actor at such a young age is really tragic. Hey Jovan, I’ll always remember our time on set as well as the talks in the dressing room. You had this energy and vibrancy that set a room alight. Hamba kahle laaitie. I’ll miss you.”

Francesca Matthys wrote on Facebook, “How does one begin to comprehend this.How does one find the expression for this…Rest easy now.”

Aroha Te Ora said,”Damn man…we spoke in November about doing photoshoots for some ideas you were brewing. I hesitated because I felt I was too busy for passion projects.
