Happy birthday to Xola Mlambo.

Ten Ten’ started playing football from a very early age, leading to his Pirates stars face bleak future move to join Meadowland FC where he was selected to represent Gauteng in the SAB U21 Tournament.

The futures of Siphesihle Ndlovu, Xola Mlambo, Justin Shonga, and Austin Muwowo are said to be hanging in the balance at Orlando Pirates with the club rumoured to be uncertain on whether to keep or discard them.

All four have struggled for game time at the Buccaneers this season and a source said they could either be loaned out or handed their clearances.

“It is a difficult situation for both the club and players because they were not given proper chances especially under the new coach (Josef Zinnbauer) but to restrict the squad numbers, they may have to be let go either on loan or sold or released.

“The club has said that because of the perceived financial strain they might face after Covid-19, they need to cut down on the size of their squad. Plus they want to add a few new faces so some have to be cut loose,” said a source.

In 2011, Xola was scouted by Augustine Makalakalane to join North West University on a three year bursary. In his final year of university, he was recommended to the Mamelodi Sundowns Reserve Team, “M-Tigers”, under the leadership of former Orlando Pirates defender and captain Dan Malesela. After competing in the ABC Motsepe League for the 2014/15 season, Xola reunited with coach Malesela for half a season at Cape Town All Stars before moving to Chippa United. His first taste of silverware came in the colours of Bidvest Wits, where he won the league, the MTN Top 8 and the Telkom Cup.

Outside of football, ‘Ten Ten’ spends time working with finances and enjoys playing other sports. Growing up, he idolised players like Luis Figo, Lionel Messi and Shoes Moshoeu.

Former Our Perfect Wedding presenter Kayise Ngqula has once again opened up about the heartbreak of losing her husband Farai Sibanda, recounting how she begged him to wake up and stay with her.

In commemoration of International Widows’ Day on Tuesday, Kayise shared a love letter to her late husband through her new YouTube channel After Dark with Kayise.

The actress lost her husband in a car accident on June 22 last year.

In the love letter, Kayise went down memory lane to a time when she first met Farai at a Pizza restaurant in March 2015, to Valentine’s Day of 2018, when he asked for her hand in marriage, telling her he would like to send his uncles to her home for lobola negotiations.

She also recalled the time she found out she was pregnant and how ecstatic they were that they’d be having a son.

During the emotional episode, Kayise began to lift the lid on the tragic car accident that left both her and her late husband in critical conditions.

With tears in her eyes, Kayise explained how she fell asleep due to the hectic week she had and recalls waking up to the sound of sirens. “It felt like I was in a dream … I remember feeling so out of touch, it was almost like a bad nightmare …”

After falling unconscious again, Kayise remembers waking up in casualty with her husband by her side.

“There was commotion, the doctors, paramedics and anyone who needed to be there to attend to us, it was then that I asked, ‘Where are we and what’s happened?’ I was then informed by the doctors we’d been in a car accident and that we were quite injured …

“But I looked to my right, my husband was hysterical, fighting off anyone who touched him … he didn’t want to be touched and attended to, he kept screaming my name … I then told him we’re going to be OK.”

After being informed that her husband wasn’t doing well, Kayise revealed how she couldn’t understand why he couldn’t wake up. “I asked him and begged him to wake up … I needed to hear him talk.”

After hearing the news that her husband had passed away, Kayise explained that all she wanted to do was to breathe life into him.

Media personality Ayanda Thabethe has come out guns blazing in defence of Zenande Mfenyana, after The Queen actress was dragged by social media users for her “rude” response to a direct message.

Zenande sparked fierce debate on social media on Tuesday when a screenshot of a conversation about body shaming went viral.

As the hashtag #ZenandeMustFall dominated the trends list most of Tuesday, Ayanda felt the Twitter mob needed to be called to order for their trolling ways.

Taking to Twitter with a stern warning, Ayanda called for tweeps to have a little mercy on Zenande, reminding them of the little human the actress has growing inside of her.

“Guys, Zenande is pregnant, growing a human inside of her — please have a little mercy.”

She went to say that the hashtag was “totally wrong” and unnecessary.

“The fact that this hashtag has been trending the whole day is totally wrong. Ngiyamxolisela lapho awone khona. Sekwanele,” she added.Zenande has been at the centre of body shaming since she announced that she was expecting last month.

This week the star slammed body shamers in a series of Instagram Stories posts, after they had criticised a picture of her preparing for the birth of her daughter.

“I’m carrying a whole human being inside my body, so if you want to say f**ked up things to me about how different I look, be my guest. But I’m done being silent about this cyber bullying towards pregnant women, specifically me in this case,” she wrote, adding that she hopes those who criticised her would do their research on pregnancy.

A fan responded to this by sending Zenande a direct message, saying she could relate to being mocked about her pregnant body but wanted to reassure Zenande that she was doing a beautiful job. The fan added that once her baby arrives she would be back to normal.

However, the actress didn’t take the words of encouragement kindly, telling the fan that her message was not “welcome” and saying that the woman should keep her opinions to herself next time.

“I’m not lala. I am not you. I never said I’m not embracing my pregnancy. Just because you laugh about it I don’t find any of it funny,” she added.
