Thickleeyonce won over her ‘crush’ Ndumiso of Black Diamond

Thickleeyonce’s bravery may have paid off.

One of the cutest interactions on Twitter took place on Thursday night after Thickleeyonce confessed she has a huge crush on one half of the Blaq Diamond duo, Ndumiso Mdletshe, and proceeded to shoot her shot.

Thickleeyonce could no longer keep her crush to herself, and decided to share with her followers.

“Why do I have a crush on Blaq Diamond? Send help,” she said.

She first had to clarify which member of Blaq Diamond she was crushing on because, like many other peeps, she thought Blaq Diamond was one guy. Kante, there’s two guys, namely Ndumiso and Sphelele Dunywa.

“Kante, it’s two people. Why didn’t I know this? I was wondering why the other guy is always with him. I thought it was his bestie. My bad, I have a crush on the one with the locks. He’s cute,” she clarified.Tweeps had to hold themselves back to stop from planning a wedding. The general consensus is that sis now has a very public licence to slide into the DMs, so tweeps encouraged her to do the right thing.

She will probs have to act fast because just moments after Blaq Diamond acknowledged Thickleeyonce, other girls were already jumping in.

Western Cape High Court rules that lockdown regulations are justified, dismisses application

Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma An application to have the lockdown regulations declared invalid, and the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) declared inconsistent with the Constitution and the Disaster Management Act, was dismissed in the Western Cape High Court in Cape Town on Friday.
Last month, Mpiyakhe Dlamini, Duwayne Esau, Tami Jackson, Lindo Khuzwayo, Mikhail Manuel, Neo Mkwane, Scott Roberts and Riaan Salie brought the application.

Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, President Cyril Ramaphosa, Minister of Trade and Industry Ebrahim Patel, the NCCC, and the Disaster Management Centre were the respondents.Judges Rosheni Allie and Elizabeth Baartman presided.

In her judgement of 83 pages, Judge Allie said she is “satisfied that the regulations are justified”.

“I accept that the measures do not satisfy everyone and there is a great deal of criticism levelled against them. The inconvenience and discontent that the regulations have caused the applicants and others have to be weighed against the urgent objective and primary constitutional duty to save lives,” reads Allie’s judgment.”It is not for the courts to prescribe to government how it should exercise its mandate in those circumstances.”

Allie said she couldn’t conceive of an argument more destructive to the applicants’ assertion that they acted in the public interest, than their argument that the regulation suspending evictions was unlawful.

“I am not persuaded that [the] applicants are entitled to any of the relief they seek,” Allie said.

Baartman agreed with Allie’s judgment.Allie said normally a cost order would follow the result, but given that the respondents conceded there was confusion about the role and powers of the NCCC, and the applicants “having cast the ambit of their relief widely”, each party must pay its own cost.

The judgment came on the same day as the High Court in Pretoria dismissed, with costs, an application by the Fair Trade Independent Tobacco Association to have the government’s ban on the sale of tobacco products overturned.

More than 700 school staff, 88 pupils tested positive for Covid-19 in Western Cape to date – MEC

More than 700 teachers and school staff and 88 pupils have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Western Cape to date according to this week’s provisional stats, Education MEC Debbie Schäfer has said.

This was according to initial reports this week, she confirmed during a briefing to the National Council of Provinces on Thursday.

According to the verified cumulative total released a week ago, 375 staff members and 61 pupils had tested positive, Schäfer’s spokesperson, Kerry Mauchline, said.

“This includes staff members who tested positive before the reopening of schools on 1 June. The majority of schools that have reported cases have only reported one or two cases, so we are not seeing evidence of mass spreading at schools.”She explained that districts have until every Friday to verify each and every case for accurate reporting purposes. A report is then compiled, with figures not considered final until after verification.

This week’s final cumulative total is therefore expected at the end of Friday, and could be more or less than the 700 figure in the interim results.

According to the most recent figures released by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, the Western Cape accounted for 56 780 – or 48% – of the total national infections.

A total of 1 652 people in the province have succumbed to Covid-19, while 39 475 have recovered.

Mauchline said a confirmed case, which required a detailed protocol to be followed, does not necessarily require a school to be closed.

“In each case, a number of factors will be considered in making the decision,” she said.

Only the areas where the staff member or pupil has physically been present needed to be disinfected.

According to Mauchline, the date the infected person was last at the school is important as the National Institute for Communicable Diseases and the Department of Health have told the education department the virus does not survive on surfaces for more than 72 hours.

“If a staff member was last present at a school more than a week before, sanitising a surface is not required.”

Big Nuz back again – Mampintsha and DJ Tira have finally buried the hatchet

Mampintsha and DJ TiraOne of Mzansi’s biggest music groups, Big Nuz, are set to make a comeback after its members smoked the peace pipe. The group, which consists of Danger and Mampintsha, have now buried the hatchet, after falling out when Mampintsha started his own record label West Ink.In an interview with TshisaLIVE, DJ Tira confirmed the news and claimed they were making plans about how Big Nuz would be reintroduced to Mzansi. Well, I’m excited long overdue … people wanted them together for a long time but I’m glad it’s finally happening.” Tira revealed that they would start doing some work in August

I’m sure we will start recording in August, we are still to decide on which company we are going to use or perhaps a joint venture … we need to iron that out. So far … I’m glad we’re all on the same page.

When asked whether he was responsible for having the two back together, Tira said, “Not that I’m the one responsible, obviously the guys had their own things that they wanted to do but they are still releasing their solo project … the timing is just right. Tira lifted the lid on future plans with Big Nuz, even hinting at the possibility of a reality show.

We started this group as brothers. We can’t give up like that. Big Nuz represented uMlazi and Kwaito fans. We have to keep the legacy of the group and to respect R Mashesha by continuing with the job even after he passed on.

To show how the two have made amends, Danger took to Instagram on Thursday afternoon to share a “behind the screens look” at a music video for the song What Time Is It, with Babes and Mampintsha. In 2018, the group split, with Tira explaining that the company would no longer take bookings or answer enquiries about the group.

As the group members traded shade over the split, Danger announced that he was launching his own record and entertainment company, 108 Entertainment.

“We want to do a concert together … it’s in the plan with the album, the performance of the new music, we are also looking into a reality show on the making of the music. Danger, earlier this week confirmed to Sunday Sun that he and Mampintsha were reunited and working together.
