Angela Sithole is celebrating 10 years in the acting industry

SHE’S celebrating 10 years in the acting industry.

Even though it wasn’t a smooth ride, she believes obstacle paved her way.

Former Zabalaza actress Angela Sithole told Daily Sun she had grown over the past decade.

“I’ve faced a lot of challenges over the years, but those challenges have helped shape who I am today. One thing I’m grateful for is that I’ve learned how to stand up for myself,” she said. Angela said some of the challenges included finding her feet and steer away from being type casted.

“I overcame obstacles by not giving up and constantly reminding myself exactly what it was I wanted in my career,” she said.

The 30-year-old from Joburg describes herself as an enthusiastic, bubbly, goal-driven individual with a passion for acting and performing arts.

“I’m fascinated by the thought of being able to step into a different character. I love all things beauty, travelling and adventure. All in all, I’m a force to be reckoned with.” Angela said acting has always been her dream.

“I’ve always wanted to act. I grew up impersonating my teachers and friends in front of the mirror,” she said.

“All my roles have a special place in my heart, so this is a tough one. I think Diamond City opened more doors for me because that character gave me an opportunity to play. A beautiful challenge that was.”

The actress said playing Puleng was a challenge.

“That character was much older than me, so it required a lot of emotional maturity. Also, Sonto in Smoke & Mirrors was hard because I had to play the complete opposite of Nthabiseng,” Angela said.

She also has a foundation called the Angela Sithole Foundation.

“I started it because I wanted to uplift and empower young girls.”

She said she is currently shooting a show, Empini, which will stream on Showmax on Thursday, 23 May.
