Award-winning house music Prince Kaybee leads the way in Sama nominations

Award-winning house music DJ Prince Kaybee leads the South African Music awards top 20 shortlist for Record of the Year (ROTY) and Music Video of the Year (MVOTY) with four nominations.

His two smash hits Fetch Your Life featuring Msaki and Gugulethu featuring Afro Brothers, Indlovukazi and SUPTA are both nominated in the ROTY and MVOTY categories making his tally the highest so far in SAMA26.“In these two categories, the SAMA gives the viewer and fan of local music a voice to crown the winners. The shortlist was revealed on Thursday and put up for public vote. It is their exceptional artistry, passion for the craft and tenacity that has seen them rise to the top.

Hot on Kaybee’s heels is KO with three nominations for Supa Dupa (ROTY and MVOTY) and Say You Will featuring Nandi Madida (MVOTY).

Two Amapiano tracks Labantwana Ama Uber by Semi Tee feat. Miano, Kammu Dee and Kokota by Kaygee Daking and Bizizi featuring Killer Kau are up for a ROTY while Black Coffee’s Lalala featuring Usher; Sun-El Musician’s Into Ingawe featuring Ami Faku; Blaq Diamond’s Ibhanoyi; Samthing Soweto’s Akulaleki featuring Sha Sha, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small; and Tshego’s No Ties featuring King Monada complete the list.

With two nods respectively from the two categories are DJ Zinhle for Umlilo featuring Mvzzle and Rethabile; Holly Rey for You; AKA for Jika featuring Yanga Chief; SMA Nasty C featuring Rowlene; Lady Zamar for This is Love; TNS for My Dali featuring Indlovukazi and Black Motion for Joy Joy featuring Brenden Praise.

Former Idols SA finalist Brenden Praise Ledwaba and his wife Mpoomy Ledwaba have welcomed their second child into the world.

The couple couldn’t contain their excitement and posted snaps of their little boy’s hand on their Instagram accounts this week.

The couple revealed the name of their newborn baby on Instagram as Zani Lehumo Ledwaba.

The proud father of the two thanked God for blessing them with a happy, loving and healthy baby boy .

“On the 29th of June God blessed us with a happy, loving and healthy baby boy. We can’t express enough, the joy we feel and how grateful we are.”

Brenden said he was grateful to his wife for carrying their son for nine months and praised her strength.

“I’m especially grateful to my wife Mpoomy Ledwaba for carrying him through the nine-month period in obviously what is a tough time in the world. Your strength continues to amaze me and I’m truly grateful to be doing this life thing you”.

Mpoomy also took to Instagram to share the exciting news and wrote, “Our home has been filled with so much warmth and love as we became a family of four last week.”

The couple welcomed their first child, an adorable baby girl called Nuri Lethabo in 2018.
