Former Muvhango actor and TV presenter Lesley Musina has applied for a protection order against members of a Capetown- based property stokvel called Black Bantu Movement (BBM) over claims he allegedly scammed them out of R50,000.Musina has however denied the claims and opened a case of crimen injuria against members of the co-operative.
According to court papers, Musina said he as approached by two members of BBM last July asking him to help them publicize their co-operative, which was trying to recruit more members to raise funds to by properties across the country under the BBM umbrella. They agreed to pay him R50 000 upfront with the balance to be paid upon reaching their target of R-million contributions monthly.
However, despite his efforts the targets could not be reached and they demanded their R50 000 back.
“They have now resorted to cyberbullying, calling me a scammer and fraud. Everyday on Twitter I’m being portrayed as a criminal by one of the members, Nontsundu, Musina said.
