South African media personality, Minnie Dlamini-Jones, has taken to Twitter to voice her grievances with the law that allows trolls to remain private if they have been reported. Minnie made reference to the fact that many people feel confident enough to expose people to violent threats and hateful speech on the internet, yet feel justified in expecting their privacy to be protected.
She stated, “Many people hide behind their devices to bully others on social media, but it’s getting out of hand. Rape and murder threats to a child???? These perpetrators need to be held accountable these threats are criminal and no child should endure such.”
Her comments came after she read a recent story of a 13-year-old girl receiving rape and death threats on Instagram, and having her perpetrator’s identity not being exposed due to his privacy. “…if anyone violates another’s right to safety using criminal threats, they shouldn’t be protected by the right to privacy, to evade accountability.”, she said.
Bow Wow may have started out in the music industry, but the rapper said it’s no longer his first love.
Like many other artists, Bow Wow has floated throughout the industry as he’s dabbled in music, film, television, and production. The Atlanta-based hitmaker started off in the music game as a kid under the tutelage of Snoop Dogg and Jermaine Dupri, and now he’s an entrepreneur who has expanded his horizons to star in films like Madea’s Happy Family, Lottery Ticket, Roll Bounce, and the forthcoming Fast & Furious film F9. The multihyphenated entertainer took to Twitter to set a few things straight for fans who continue to ask him what facet of the industry he likes the best, surprising some by saying that music isn’t his first love.“People always ask me film and TV or music? I never hesitate … FILM AND TV IS MY LIFE. Music was just the start up,” said Bow Wow. “When you been making music for as long as i have, the passion drops a little. You get bored. You try to find that NEW challenge.” Speaking of challenges, fans have been discussing Bow Wow stepping up for a Verzuz as they debate who he should “battle” against. While there have been suggestions like Romeo Miller and Omarion, a fan chimed in recently to say that Ja Rule would make a formidable opponentBow Wow only had one answer for the fan: “Explain…” While there hasn’t been an explanation given, there were many fans who shared that they could see it happening. In June 2019, Mike Epps was asked during an interview if his Richard Pryor biopic would ever hit theaters, and his answer was a tad enigmatic. “I’m having a great time,” Epps said. “I love the king Richard Pryor but it’s just one of those films that was hard to make, and I’m having a good time being Mike Epps right now. I’m somebody’s Richard Pryor.”
Nasty C replies AKA after saying he’s ‘out of control’
Recall, AKA said Nasty C is “out of control” and he needs to be stopped for dominating local hip-hop charts with his smash hits.
AKA went further to say that Nasty C has six tracks on Apple Music’s top 10 SA songs.
The self proclaimed “Zulu man with some power” was even surprised that his single from 2019, SMA, was still charting.
However, AKA reacted to the tweet by AKA saying he is out of control, as a compliment, and needed to be stopped.
Nasty reacted with a handshakes emoji implying that he was in agreement with AKA.
AKA, who had two songs on the chart, was actually encouraging SA artists to work even harder in order to knock some of the rapper’s songs out of the top 10.
