Radio and TV personality Unathi Nkayi has opened up about the devastating effect the Covid-19 pandemic has had on her family after losing close relatives, just four hours apart, due to the virus.

The Idols judge took to Instagram this week to celebrate the recovery of fellow celebrity Lerato “Zah” Moloi.

While the presenter shared excitement at her friend’s recovery, she also shared the pain of losing those close to her.

“Thank you for posting your video on surviving Covid-19 on Insta, Rato. My aunt and uncle, brother and sister died on Monday four hours apart from each other. I am happy you are alive my love, Zah,” said Unathi.

The star also encouraged her followers to be more open about the virus.

In another post earlier this month, she spoke of the trauma of seeing others she loved bury their loved ones.

“Two people I know are burying loved ones today and tomorrow. I’ve lost one of my favourite people this week.

“Every day friends of mine tell me of people they know who are infected. Names. Infections are evolving from number to names. Please be safe.”

No man can break my heart –Chinenye Uyanna

No man can break my heart –Chinenye UyannaNo man can break Chinenye Uyanna’s heart. Reason: She is an iron lady n a recent encounter, the Anambra State-born actress reiterated to Inside Nollywood with a tinge of boldness and pride that she’s unbreakable. Hear her: “Nobody can break my heart. It’s unbreakable. I am a woman of steel, an iron lady.”

Recalling how her journey into Nollywood started and her parents’ initial reaction, the gap-toothed screen diva asserts, “I started acting fully in 2012. My first film was Shakara Babe. I have always wanted to be an actor since I was a child. Whenever I traveled to the village with my cousins, we always talked about what we wanted to be in future. I always said I wanted to be an actor. At the beginning of my career, I didn’t know how to tell my daddy, but later on, I told him, and he is okay with it now. For my mother, she has no issues with it.”

On her first time on set, Uyanna said: “I was shy my first time on set because I met a lot of super stars. The most challenging movie I have done is House6. It is a TV series. It was challenging because it was done in Igbo language. We shot the English part first and then the Igbo part followed. It was really stressful.”

‘Why Get-Fit made Ademoye, Ceec, Tacha brand ambassadors’

‘Why Get-Fit made Ademoye, Ceec, Tacha brand ambassadors’The CEO of Get-Fit, Adekemi Oladipo, has revealed the reasons her outfit picked actress Bimbo Ademoye, BBNaija’s Cynthia Nwadiora (Ceec) and Natacha Akide (Tacha) as brand ambassadors.

“We chose them for different reasons unique to each one of them, but majorly they are strong women and smart ladies,” she states.

Oladipo, who underscores the importance of a trim figure and healthy lifestyle, explained that entertainers could keep fit by incorporating exercise into their daily routine, using Get-Fit. “Entertainers can keep fit by using Get-Fit and incorporating exercise into their daily routine, most especially, if their aim is to lose body fat and not just their bellies,” she said, adding, “They will benefit from the secret tips that come with our products.”

For Oladipo, the need to teach a healthy lifestyle and minimise the risk of obesity is the rationale behind the launch of an e-learning platform by Get-Fit. “It is an e-learning platform that teaches how to live a healthy life and eat healthily. The rate of obesity is high in Africa and a lot of people do not have the knowledge, so we are teaching them online how to achieve a healthy and fit lifestyle easily without breaking the bank.”

How I met, proposed to my wife –Deyemi Okanlawon, actor

How I met, proposed to my wife –Deyemi Okanlawon, actor

I grew up around Ikeja, Lagos. My mother owns Bakers’ World located on Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos. We lived on Owodunni Street on Allen Avenue and also Community Road, Ikeja, Lagos. We were five kids. I am number two. What’s interesting was that even though we were many, I feel I grew up alone because I was always immersed in books while my siblings were jumping around playing. I guess that was where my art of telling stories originated. I devoured anything on paper; I was a voracious reader (laughter). I loved Enid Blyton; I read Famous Five, Secret Seven and authors like Sidney Sheldon, Nick Carter, and James Hardly Chase.
