Jaden Smith talks about why he stopped using the family name

Jaden and parentsJaden Smith discussed why he dropped his last name from his stage moniker in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. The son of The Fresh Prince credited his sister with the inspiration for his name change, explaining how her decision led to him following her lead.

“I realized that Willow changed her name to Willow at some point in time,” he said. “And that she was no longer Willow Smith. It took me a while. Because if you look Willow Smith up, it’ll still come up. But then it took me a while to see that it was just Willow. And I was like, ‘Yo. That’s so strong.’ You feel like you don’t have to say your last name. You’re just Willow.”

“I create different characters for myself … and it’s like Jaden, that’s music,” he said. “And Jaden Smith, that’s 501(c)(3), that’s acting in movies. I wanted to just make that little distinction there, just a little bit so I could just [say] different things are happening.”Jaden is currently prepping for the return of his Cool Tape series with Volume 3 due out later this year. The upcoming project will be the follow-up to his ERYS album, which dropped in July 2019 via Roc Nation

CizaThe son of legendary Mafikizolo singer Nhlanhla and music executive Thembinkosi “TK” Nciza – Nkululeko – is walking in the footsteps of his parents and looking to make music that takes over Africa.Professionally known as Ciza, the 18-year-old afro-pop artist says he is ready to take the industry by storm.
“My dream as an artist is to unite Africa through music, and ultimately use my music to take Africa to the world,” he says.

“I want my listeners to feel good and to come alive and dance in the midst of the chaos. I am sharing my talent with the world and trying to bring joy and relieve people from the emotional, physical and psychological pain they have endured during this global pandemic through my craft,” he shares.

“Honestly, I have never felt any sort of pressure, of course there are high expectations from the public for me because of who I am, however, I was born in music, and that does not scare me, but motivates me to achieve and reach even higher heights than my parents did. I believe that is purpose and I embraced it a long time ago,” he explains.

Candy died in a Pretoria hospital on Tuesday after a long battle with cancer. She was 67.

Family spokesperson Nthabiseng Moloi told TshisaLIVE that they were all devastated by her death and said “she meant everything” to them.

As fans paid tributes to the star, best known for her role as Vho-Makhadzi on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango, Marah told TshisaLIVE that she was heartbroken by her friend’s death.

“She was such a wonderful and warm person. We became close friends and would have lunch together, but we lost contact a few years ago. I was so sad and it was only yesterday that I learnt she had gone off radar because she was sick. That made me so sad.”

She said that in the heartache, it was comforting to know that her friend was now no longer in pain.

“As Lilian (Dube) said to me, ‘Marah it was God’s will that she is now resting because she was really in pain and not in a good space’.”

Candy and Marah first met on the set of Muvhango, where they worked together for more than 10 years.

“I have such a great working relationship with her, she was so professional, focused and hard working.”

Marah remembered how the pair would often joke around on set, attracting glances from their co-stars and director.

“They would get angry with us, but we were just having fun and would always know our lines. So we didn’t care”

She said the industry would be poorer without Candy, who inspired and created opportunities for the generations after her.

“My deepest condolences to her family. We have lost a great actress and we will always miss her.”

Candy Tsa Mandebele fuming after being ‘killed’ off on Twitter

“She didn’t immediately delete the post after they told her she’s wrong and she hasn’t even reached out to me to apologise. That’s disrespectful!” Candy said.

A Twitter moemish by singer and actress Tumi Masemola has infuriated Candy Tsa Mandebele, who has come out to confirm that she’s still alive and kicking.

A Twitter moemish by singer and actress Tumi Masemola has infuriated Candy Tsa Mandebele, who has come out to confirm that she’s still alive and kicking.

Tumi got Candy trending on Tuesday, after she mistakenly confused the singer with late veteran actress Candy Moloi.

What was meant as a heartfelt tribute to all the strong female stars and prominent figures who died recently, including Candy Moloi, Mary Twala, Moonyeenn Lee and Zindzi Mandela, took a wrong turn when Tumi attached the wrong picture.

Instead of posting Candy Moloi, of Muvhango fame, she posted Candy Tsa Mandebele.

Candy Mandebele had to set the record straight.

“I’m still here, well and alive guys,” she said on her Instagram.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Candy said the death post left her stressed out and even threatened her health as a person living with diabetes.

The star added that she wants a personal apology for the strain the “Twitter death” put on her health.

“She didn’t immediately delete the post after they told her she’s wrong and she hasn’t even reached out to me to apologise. That’s disrespectful!

“I could tell you how many calls I have received from family and loved ones and text from people who were really confused and thought I had died … they were so many of them.

“I was already emotional by Mama Candy’s death, she was a friend and mentor to me and I loved her like my own sister. The stress that girl added really left me feeling physically sick, my blood pressure went up,” she said.

Tumi has since apologised on Twitter and deleted the original tweet.

“My sincere apologies for my grave error. I am completely embarrassed and wish I could dig a hole. Le ntshwareleng (forgive me) for posting incorrect image. Candy Tsa Mandebele is very much alive,” Tumi said hours after posting the picture.
