Born and raised in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, Karabo Mogane is the winner of South African Idols Season 11 2015 Competition. He is the eighth and last born child of a family of two older brothers and five sisters.
Karabo has shown the most dramatic turnaround in this season of Idols SA, which has opened a lot of doors for him and has quickened the process of him becoming an established artist that is financially stable. Idols season 11 which was Karabo’s season had the most votes since Idols started, season 11 more than tripled the record of season 10 of which was 24million season 11 did a whopping 89million votes which goes to prove the popularity of Karabo and the season 11 Top 10.
Since winning Idols, Karabo has travelled around the world performing, and on great stages around the country. He has collaborated with some great artists, and has signed a deal with Disney to do a soundtrack for their series called the Lion guard.
Per Karabo, his most memorable responses to the work that he has done is “when a couple got engaged to one of his songs called “Ngithandile” on his newly released album “Matters of the Heart” and people have him me that he has a soothing and relaxing voice and that’s its incredible and that it touches the heart. “People never want me to get off the stage after my performances, they always ask for more. People say my voice is anointed”, adds Karabo.
Karabo is a lover of love and believe its reflected in his work. “I believe the world can be a better place if we love each other”, adds Karabo.
Filling up a stadium anywhere around the world, the proceeding to give back to charities around the Africa and the world, to record a live DVD and feature all the greatest RnB artist in South Africa and the world are some of the Idols SA season 11’s dream projects.
Karabo has impressed the international multi-award winning American RnB gospel Bebe Winans, who has promised to collaborate with him on his next show in South Africa. Bebe Winans invited Karabo for dinner when he was in South Africa 2016; Karabo and Bebe recorded a small video which they loaded on their social media, fans went into a frenzy admiring the short duet which they both dedicated to Karabo’s mother who is a great fan of the international singer
