Ungubaba is urban gospel song of praise, that speaks about God’s love and mercy to his children. ZAlebs recently caught up with the musician about life after Idols, her new single and her relationship with the Qwabe Twins.
Speaking about what her new single means she says, “Ungubaba basically refers to God being a faithful shepherd at all times and being a promise keeper. Remember he said in his word he will never leave forsake us and he said he is a father of orphanages and widows. I am basically reminding everyone that God is still god even during this pandemic.”
The singer was accused of being a diva on the singing competition and bullying the Qwabe Twins speaking about her relationship with them she said.
“I have never had bad vibes on them I don’t know what their perspective is but I’m cool with them.”
Asked about whether she is planning on releasing an album she is said she does not plan things in life because God always has something different “Sometimes you make plans but God has different plans, like in 2020 we made plans but everything took a short curve, I always say my career and life is God driven where God’s lead.”
The musician says the song is one of the hymns that her grandmother used to sing for her and she decided to work on it. As she dropped it on Friday she says she had anxiety but the feedback has been exceptional.
“I’ve been having so much anxiety and when I woke up in the morning I found out that i was trending at number 4 on the chart and God has been amazing and people are listening to the song.Sneizey who shot fame on SA Idols says life after the show has been an amazing journey “SA Idols was an amazing chapter for me I kinda needed Idols to remember who I am, because being for a Jesus kid in a pop competition, I always say that a God’s journey is not hidden, I needed to grow personally and my spiritual being.”
The talented musician did not scoop the coveted crown and she says life after the show has not changed a lot.
She says apart from people having expectations it has now turned her into an independent artist, “It took me from being a backing vocalist to the front line, It has not been that different.””
