Lady Zamar went on social media to commend South African artists from Limpopo for representing the country globally. The musician used slang in her statement. However, the slang was misunderstood by some social media users.

“Limpopo has been representing globally for a minute now…,” says Lady Zamar. Social media users attacked the musician for what she said. One social media user says, “…I know you put those emojis to make this tweet look sugar coated but I sense a [little] bit of jealousy here…” One social media user says, “You should have just kept quiet my sister. Even if this was genuine, somehow sounds wrong.” One user says, “I don’t think this is well phrased, what do you mean for a minute?”

Some social media users brought up the rape allegations that she has against Sjava. However, some social media users stood up for Lady Zamar. “The problem with y’all is that you don’t read to understand & [you are] quick to post unnecessary comments…she meant that ‘Limpopo has been representing us globally for a while now’, [heal man],” says one social media user. Lady Zamar went on to show a Google search for those who supposedly didn’t understand what she was trying to say. “Google to the rescue for those who don’t get it…Viva Limpopo…,” says Lady Zamar.

Prince Kaybee has started a campaign called ‘Project Hope’, an initiative to find talented unknown vocalists. The musician is doing this in response to the gender-based violence events that has been happening in the country. He says that he thought of doing something positive.

“What’s happening in the country right now, where women are just looking over their shoulders every time, we really needed something positive for them. Every time I go into Twitter people are being kidnapped and raped. So I thought to do something positive,” says Prince Kaybee. When the musician went on social media to look for a talented vocalist, he was set on choosing one vocalist. However, he ended up with 10 vocalists overall. The music producer stated that it would be unfair to choose one person out of the amazing vocalists that have come forward.

“The 10 vocalists will feature on 10 different songs. This is something we want to do annually but it will depend on sponsors and budget. A lot had to be saved and prepared for this initiative,” says Prince Kaybee. The ladies that were chosen are on a five-day music production boot camp at the Universal Music in Rosebank. The music producer has not decided on a release date as of yet. “We are still in the early days of the project and worinking around the budget so it’s a case where I’m working against time. So I don’t know when exactly I will be putting it out, but when it is done people will know,” says Prince Kaybee.
