Happy birthday 🎂🎉 to actor, producer, TV and radio host and businesswoman Relebogile Mabotja.

Actress and newsreader Relebogile Mabotja is the only radio presenter that has been reshuffled out of the SABC’s popular radio station Metro FM.

This comes after Metrofm revealed its new radio line-up this afternoon.

Mabotja joined the station in April 2019 on The Fresh Breakfast Show and then moved to afternoon drive show The Kings Suite with Siphesihle “Sphectacula” Ngwenya and Lebogang “DJ Naves” Naves.

She will be replaced by Newsroom Afrika’s news reporter Lindi Sirame who is described by the station as having “a wealth of knowledge and sassiness to the show.”

On Instagram Mabotja said: “Yes, it was a difficult decision to leave Metro FM, a station that I’ve now come to call home. For today’s show we celebrate the great moments and the amazing platform and opportunity I was given.”

A source however said she did not leave – but was let go by the station and today is her final show.

Among the minor changes to the station, former Live presenter Luthando ‘Lootlove’ Shosha will be moving up the racks to join the weekend breakfast show, ‘THE WKNDR’ with Mpho MoG Madise, leaving DJ Speedsta to host the two hour long show, ‘Absolute Hip-Hop’ by himself.

“We are ecstatic to welcome the new editions to the METRO FM Family. They each bring their individuality and unique skills to the brand. This move is in line with our commitment of growing and grooming radio talent as we consciously prepare METRO FM’s next generation of broadcasters,” said Metro FM station manager, Sibongile Mtyali.

SABC acting spokesperson Mmoni Seapolelo confirmed that “based on the 2019 successes, that saw the station delivering its highest audience figures in four (4) years, the station plans to maintain the current line-up with a few minor additions.”

The station further introduced two developmental slots aimed at setting up new and young talent for the future at MetroFM.

These are new weekend programmes from 02:00 -04:00 (The Lift) and 04:00 – 06:00 (Club with Mat Elle), hosted by former YOTv media personality Rorisang Thandekiso and former Tuks FM presenter Nthabeleng Matela respectively.

Babes Wodumo and Zodwa Wabantu seem to have a budding friendship and the two might be closer than we think.Zodwa Wabantu and Babes Wodumo

Joining fellow artists on the N3 north and southbound highway, Zodwa was seen holding a 70% capacity board for all events, one of the main demands directed at President Cyril Ramaphosa. The pair, sporting all-black outfits, are in support for events, clubs, and concerts to open in Level 2.

Zodwa said the situation was dire, incomes have hugely decreased with many artists sitting home not earning an income in nearly six months.

Chris Q Radebe talks about playing disrespectful king Dabula on Isibaya

Chris Q RadebeEven though he describes himself as a writer who also acts, actor Chris Q. Radebe has left many viewers touched as King Dabula on Isibaya, and he lives for the reaction he manages to get out of fans who love to hate his problematic character

Chris is a head writer on Isibaya and in a recent interview with TshisaLIVE explained how this actually helped him with his acting, especially since his career in front of the camera actually started off by chance.

Once he realised he loved it, Chris had to be a sponge and learn quickly how to give acting his best shot. Luckily for him, being a scriptwriter worked to his advantage because once he learnt how to tweak that process so that he could apply it to his acting, he was well on his way.

“When I began I depended heavily on direction but then I realised that I had artistic freedom. Once I learnt do that with Dabula and I learnt with time that, as an actor, you have the liberty to give him those nuances and to give him phrases that nobody else uses, then I started having more fun.

In 2018, after having been told he has “an actor’s face”, filmmaker Angus Gibson randomly gave him a call about his first role as Romeo on Isithembiso. That was when the acting bug bit.

Pheko Kgengoe’s shocking tombstone causes chaos, his Wife defends herself

Pheko Kgengoe“To my skhokho and father of our children, Ke go rata f****d up san.”

The funeral service of music promoter and artist Pheko Kgengoe was held in June, but the tombstone with this message emerged recently on social media.

A lot of social media users were shocked by the language.

But Pheko’s widow Tsepang (33) explained the message to Daily Sun.Tsepang said: “I see people are misunderstanding this. We got married in November 2018 when he was 35.”

She said that’s the way they have always talked to each other.

“It was our thing. We called each other skhokho and he’d say he loves me f****d up,” said the young widow and mum of one, who’s expecting her second child.“For us that meant ‘very much’.”

“I did the tombstone with the knowledge that my friend had just been stolen away from me, and knowing I wouldn’t see him again.

“I wanted to have something I could relate to whenever I went there.”

She said this meant no disrespect to Pheko.

“I’m sorry that people misunderstood my message,” she said.

Pheko’s aunt refused to comment.

She referred the SunTeam to his wife, Tsepang (33).

Two weeks before Pheko from Dobsonville in Soweto died, he had a conversation with ellow artist, Terrence McKay.

“We were discussing our next song and he chose heaven,” Terrence told Daily Sun.

It was as if Pheko knew what was coming.

“When I heard he’d passed away I told myself I’d release the song as a tribute to Pheko.”

Social media user Lunga Ndaba said the message is disrespectful to the dead.

However, some people did understand this may have been the language the couple used.

“It’s like when you used to call each other sthandwa. When one is dead, there’s no problem with the other calling the deceased sthandwa,” tweeted Mongezi.
