Lukhanyo Bele Chats About His Career And Lockdown Film The feature-film was shot on a video chat platform

The actor recently produced his lockdown film The Underground. The film follows the life of Mike Stuckman, who is planning the funeral of his father and he also tries to resolve some family conflicts at the funeral.

The film features the likes of Andrea Dondolo, Leon Clingman, Shannon Esra and others who are part of the cast.

Speaking on how he decided to work on the film he says, “There was a call on Facebook from a well known filmmaker Tim Greee, when lock down began in March. Tim put up a post on on his Facebook page called Lockdown movie project 2020, that are any actors who would like to collaborate on something must work together and I did.”

Lukhanyo says he received an overwhelming response from the renowned actors who wanted to be part of the film. He says every character on the film is based upon his family, and the story-line is authentic because he wrote what i know he knows.

“I thought what would be intriguing about conducting a funeral online, that is a disaster already, through a family that is scattered across SA and don’t get a long and that is when the story was born.”

He says he wanted to create a story that people would still be able to laugh about than to only think about bad memories of the lockdown period.

The film was shot a video chat platform and it is set to be his biggest project. He says it was a process to direct others through a virtual platform, but because he worked with resilient people he managed to produce what he dream off.

“We would have virtual meeting and I will direct them through a video chat platfom. When we are done actors would then need to do a solo shoot with their own devices to make sure it’s 4k quality, and I would then have to look at the solo shoot to see if the actor executed what I said,” he explains.

Lukhanyo says they encountered many challenges but they soldiered on.

“Wi-Fi would also be a problem, then we would have to wait until some have data or their internet connection stars working. Neighbors would make noise and you would find out that family members wants to occupy the space the actor is using”

The actor says they have had quiet an amazing feedback regarding their trailer and at the moment they are searching for distribution opportunities. Lukhanyo says actors have not been paid yet because, the first thing that you came into their minds was that they would be busy during the lockdown period.Lukhanyo says his music career was inspired writing songs for his church choir when he was growing up. He says he didn’t want to do gospel but fell in love with Afro Beat.

“My single is about woman appreciation , with Zizo winning Miss Universe and woman not being appreciated and all these killings that are happening back at home I just wanted to create a single about woman appreciation and let me be a dance song and not be about a bad mood only,” he explains.

Lukhanyo has worked on numerous international films including 6 Underground and Mama Jack. He says working on 6 Underground was the highlight of his acting career.

“Working on Six Underground was a highlight of my entire career as an actor, to be on set and be directed by Michael Bay it was a great feeling and finding an opportunity to sit down with people like Ryan Reynolds and talk about SA was my highlight.”

He said if his dad was alive he would tell him he made it because he was directed by Michael Bay.

Lukhanyo says his future plan is to turn a factory his father to used to work into Television studios. The actor says he is already writing an SA dance film and a sitcom.

Norma Mngoma Shares How Her Kids Suffered Because Of Separation School just isn’t the same for them anymore

According to City Press the former minister’s wife wrote a lengthy 50-page affidavit where she denies any involvement in illegal activities.

A highlight in her statement is how all of what happened had negatively affected her children and their performance at school.

She was charged with malicious damage to property and crimen injura when her arrest took place in July, and her electronic gadgets were seized by the Hawks. Another starling charge was allegations that she had plotted to have her husband killed.

Distancing herself from such charges, she simply dismissed them as fake criminal charges.

Norma says that her two sons aged seven and nine were deeply affected by her arrest more than her.

“My two minor children were present at the house at the time of the arrest. The discussion with the Hawks took place in their presence, which was obviously traumatic for them and very insensitive on the part of the police officers.

“My children were struggling at school, with teachers having called to notify me that the children were upset as a result of the conflict at home and the harassment by the Hawks they had witnessed. I also had no way of accessing messages from their teachers, as during that time all my gadgets were confiscated,” she wrote.

On the charges, Norma claims that her husband Malusi had told her that he dropped the charges that he had opened however that was false. She admitted that she did damage the G-Wagon that belonged to a businessman Thapelo Tshephe.

This was the result of her anger which was caused by Malusi’s extra-marital affairs. Norma claims that Malusi has still not withdrawn the charges.

“I realised that he lied to me. In fact the criminal charges he had laid against me had not been withdrawn. When I confronted him about him about that, he told me there must have been a mistake and he would be withdrawing the case that afternoon at the Brooklyn Police station. To date he has not done so,” she wrote.

Brenda is known to be one of Mzansi’s greatest actress and with every role she takes on she leaves viewers in awe over her performance and it seems that she is back to do the same once again.

Viewers last saw Brenda on screens on the award-winning drama The River where she had a recurring role as Zweli’s sister Dambisa and now she is taking on a role as NomaPrincess ‘Noma’ Matshikiza on the popular Mzansi Magic telenovela.Noma is an old associate of Harriet Khoza portrayed by Connie Ferguson and she owes quite the debt, more like a multi-million rand debt and she’s back and whilst Harriet is able to let her return Brutus portrayed by Themba Ndaba is not as forgiving.

This is not Brenda’s first time working with Ferguson Films, a few years ago she worked with them on Rockville and won her first Safta from her role.

“I’ve always acknowledged the big role they have played in my career and how they have treated me. I’m turning 40, and I just want to live my best life and they have granted me that opportunity. I can’t thank them enough along with the channel Mzansi Magic,” she told Channel24.

South African audiences love Brenda, and she knows just how they have held her down during her career from her days of being Vuyo.

“I’m also indebted to South African audiences that have never forgotten about me when I was not even on any production, their continued support is appreciated,” she also told Channel24.
Viewers are glad to see Brenda back on screens but still have a few reservations when it comes to her character, especially since her iconic Xhosa accent is missing and for the role, she has a more posh English accent but it is still early days and viewers could end up falling for the accent.

One thing that is for sure is that viewers are very happy to have Brenda back on screens and cannot wait to see the drama she will be stirring on The Queen.

The Queen for its fifth season has welcomed several well-known Mzansi actors such as Jessica Nkosi, Ntando Duma and Rapulana Seiphemo who have come to add that ‘thing’ to the dramatic telenovela.
