The rapper turned reality star, and soon to be a fragrance owning queen shared how she spent her Saturday on social media. And instead of painting the town red, the star spent the day at home with family and friends. Why? Boity had organized a surprise birthday celebration for her mother, Modiehi Thulo’s 50th birthday.

The BET’s “Boity Own Your Throne” co-star and one of the most popular mothers to a celebrity actually celebrated her birthday this past week. On her actual birthday, Boity that has always raved about her relationship with her mother had taken to social media to ut it turns out that “Mod” did not receive birthday wishes from her most cherished ones on her actual birthday. In Boity’s live stories sharing details of the birthday celebration, a surprised Modiehi first drags her family and friends for not wishing her a happy birthday on her auspicious day, believing that they do not care about. Jub Jub fails to pay back R125 000

City Press reports that popular Uyajola 9/9 host, Jub Jub, is failing to pay back a Joburg woman her R125 000 that she gave him to pay legal fees in 2011.Jub Jub

Ellen Nkutha says she cashed out her pension to pay for Jub Jub‘s legal fees and now he is ignoring her calls. She has been trying to call him since he was released in 2017.Nkutha said before Jub Jub was jailed, she accommodated him and Kelly Khumalo in her house and gave them money and groceries.

In September 2019, Nkutha said she went to Jub Jub ‘s employers, Moja Love to ask for help with getting back her money back, and they advised her to serve them with a garnished order.

The unemployed Nkutha said she could not go through with the garnishee order process hoping that Jub Jub would finally come to his senses and pay her money.

Nkutha said she and Jub Jub’s mother, Mama Jackie, were friends but fell out after she accommodated Kelly Khumalo in her house.

She said when Jub Jub was in jail, she went to demand her money from his father but he told her she must get her money from Jub Jub.

The family of actress Thandeka Mdeliswa confirmed in a statement issued at the weekend that her murder was an act of gender-based violence.

“It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our dearest daughter. She was shot in Evander, Mpumalanga on Thursday, 3 September 2020. She was immediately rushed to Evander hospital, stabilised then airlifted to Witbank after which she was transferred to Steve Biko Academic Hospital (Pretoria) as her condition was critical but stable. She passed on in the morning of the 5th September 2020 (Saturday).”

The family further confirmed that her murder was “another incident of violence against women” and added that the circumstances surrounding her death were still under investigation by police in Evander.

The brutality which was inflicted on our daughter has left us deeply hurt. This is another incident of violence against women (gender-based violence) which our country has to fight against. We believe justice will be served.”

The statement concluded by indicating that this is currently the only information that the family are able to give and asked for their privacy to be respected at this time.

Funeral arrangements for Thandeka Mdeliswa’s burial will be announced in due course.

The family of actress Thandeka Mdeliswa has revealed that their daughter succumbed to gunshot wounds suffered earlier this week, confirming her death via a statement this weekend. The rising star had built a significant public profile for herself before falling victim to another shocking case of gender-based violence (GBV).

WHO IS THANDEKA MDELISWA?

According to the family statement, Mdeliswa was attacked on Thursday 3 September. The incident took place in Evander, Mpumalanga, and the talented actress was rushed to hospital.

Despite a three-day fight for her life, Thandeka Mdeliswa passed away on Saturday, aged 34. Her acting credits include appearing in short films on Mzansi Magic, and star turns in iKanieKasi: Our Stories as well as the film Uthando Lukayisa.

The deceased has been described as an ‘inspiration’ who was valued dearly by both her family and local community. The Mdeliswas are now hellbent on securing justice for their daughter, as South Africa’s GBV epidemic claims another life.

South Africans have responded with shock and anger over the shooting of actress Thandeka Mdeliswa, with her family stating that her death was allegedly “another incident of violence against women”.Image

In a statement shared on social media Thandeka’s family said the star had been shot in Evander, Mpumalanga, last week and was transferred to a hospital in Pretoria where she died on Saturday.

“It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our dearest daughter. She was shot in Evander, Mpumalanga, on Thursday, September 3 2020.

“She was immediately rushed to Evander hospital, stabilised, then airlifted to Witbank after which she was transferred to Steve Biko Academic Hospital (Pretoria) as her condition was critical but stable. She passed on in the morning of the September 5 2020 (Saturday).”

The statement said that circumstances around her death were still under investigation by police, but added that she was a victim of gender-based violence.

“The brutality which was inflicted on our daughter has left us deeply hurt. This is another incident of violence against women (gender-based violence) which our country has to fight against. We believe justice will be served.”

Thandeka acted in several local productions including iKani, eKasi: Our Stories and the film Uthando Lukayisa.

“She was a young, talented and inspirational actress which her family and community were [hoping] to see flourish. We had a lot of expectations for her,” the statement added.

Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.

Thandeka’s death has sent shock waves across the nation, with many taking to social media to pay tribute to the star and offer their condolences to her family.

Others called for justice and urged police to investigate the circumstances around her death with urgency.
