South African media mogul, Bonang Matheba, has been announced as one of the features to appear on the line up for Charlamagne tha God’s Black Effect Podcast Network With iHeartMedia. Bonang casually shared the news by retweeting the announcement article by Variety on Wednesday, 9 September 2020, only for fans to later realise the she has yet another international gig under her belt.

The Breakfast Club’s host, Charlamagne tha God, said that his upcoming podcast is dedicated to Black listeners and voices in Black culture, with Bonang being featured as the only South African in the line-up. She will be joining the likes of Tamika Mallory, Zuri Hall and DC Young Fly. Bonang’s previous appearance on The Breakfast Club was highly praised, as fans believed she represented South Africans beautifully.

Bonang’s episode of the podcast is named, “Untitled”, with the content of her feature yet to be shared. After the news broke about her latest international venture, friends and fans alike shared congratulatory messages for the media star, including radio host, Sizwe Dhlomo. Fans appeared to be ecstatic to hear Bonang’s voice in a radio-capacity once again, after she took a lengthy break from the airwaves.

Thandeka Mdeliswa’s death shocks locals, friends and family

Messages of condolences and support are pouring out for the Mdeliswa family following death of Thandeka Mdeliswa on Thursday, 3 September.

EVANDER – Locals are still reeling from shock and disbelief over the death of Thandeka Mdeliswa.

She died on Saturday, 5 September at the Steve Biko Academic Hospital.

Best known for her role as Khanya in the SABC1 drama series Ikani, Thandeka was shot at her family home in Evander.

Family members of the 34-year-old actress said the brutality which was inflicted on their daughter has left them deeply hurt.

In a statement on Sunday, 6 September the family said: “She was shot in Evander on Thursday, 3 September.

“She was immediately rushed to Evander Hospital, stabilised and airlifted to Witbank after which she was transferred to Steve Biko Academic Hospital as her condition was critical but stable.

“The circumstances surrounding her shooting are still under investigation by Evander police,” the statement said.

The family described her as a young, talented and inspirational actress whose family and community were looking to see her flourish.

They said this is another incident of violence against women and that they believe that justice will be served.

The family requested privacy and a chance to grieve, but said that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.

Police said they are still searching for the killer of Thandeka.

Brig Leonard Hlathi, police provincial spokesman, said Thandeka heard a commotion between her brother and two men on the night of her murder.

She then went out to investigate, but when she went closer, she was shot.

The two men fled the scene.

Lieut-Genl Mondli Zuma said it is despicable to learn that men continue to inflict pain on women daily.

“We cannot allow such inexplicable actions go unpunished, hence we are making a clarion call to the public to assist in locating the killer.

“He has robbed the family and the country of a young life and talent respectively.”

Prince Kaybee travels 4 hours to see King Monada

Taking to Twitter, the music producer announced his journey and showed the hours he spent on the road getting to Limpopo, where Monada is based.

“Let me go to Limpopo and see King Monada. Wanna try something with him. I will post soon what happened. Hosh.”

Kaybee will be on the road for 4 hours 38 mins before getting to the singer’s place.

However, he used the hashtag “Project Hope” in the tweet, which suggests that he is going to meet Monada over the album.

The album was completed within 5 days with the 10 female vocalists, alongside Msaki.

Kaybee hopes the project will be annual and will be opened for both genders.

The music producer is done with the project, but still figuring a release date for it.
