Born and bred in the city of lights Johannesburg, Thando had an insatiable desire to see her dreams become a reality, which saw her career begin at the tender age of 13. The realization that entertainment was her calling saw her star in various theatre productions before landing her first TV gig at the age of 14. This was merely the beginning of a revolution in the entertainment industry.

Thando discovered her love for radio at UJFM while at University of Johannesburg studying towards her Bcom Accounting degree, when asked she says, “Radio found me”. Thando found herself gradually making her mark on the airwaves. In 2010 she was head hunted by the YFM programs manager to join the biggest youth radio station in South Africa. Her Charisma and ability to connect with young people on a level many struggle to, saw her soaring from hosting a graveyard show to a primetime show in a matter of 6 months. Thando has since left YFM and joined 5FM in May 2014 where she was part of the afternoon drive show with Roger Goode giving us our daily dose of traffic, as well as hosting her own show “Beats By Demand” on Sundays between 10:00 & 14:00. From there Thando moved into the weekdays 10:00 – 13:00 slot hosting her own show, The Thando Thabooty Show, a year later she became the first female to host a drive time show on 5FM, she can be heard weekdays 3-6pm on The Thabooty Drive on 5FM.

Thando Thabethe got her chance to move from theatre productions to on screen in 2010 when she landed the role of” Thando Nkosi” on the hit Sitcom “My Perfect Family” The show is ranked the 6th most viewed show and the 2nd most viewed comedy in SA with a viewership of over 3 000 000. The show went on to see a total of 3 seasons with Thando starring  alongside legends, Lillian Dube, John Lata and Baby Cele.

Most recently Thando starred in the lead role of Nolwazi Buzo in the biggest sopie in South Africa, Generations- The Legacy, which boasts close to 9 Million Viewers and the lead role of Zinhle Malinga in the upcoming feature film love lives here. Thando can also been seen on her own talk show Thando Bares All on TLC, which aims to highlight the extraordinary ways people live their lives.

Thando Thabethe has been highly requested for her MC work for various activations, both corporate and commercial around SA since 2010. Most recently she was the choice for the biggest CSI concert in the world, CokeRockCore and the biggest Hip-hop event in SA, Maftown Heights. She has also had the honour to host the biggest award ceremonies in South Africa, namely, The South African Music Awards and the South African Film & Television awards.

Thoroughly  involved within her community and very passionate about uplifting the girl child, Thando  hosts motivational talks in which she sheds light on her path in the hopes of changing other people’s lives, she adopts young girls annually for national take a girl child to work day, and raises funds for abused women & children through her annual Thando Thabethe Women’s Day Netball Challenge initiative.

That is not the case with Minnie as she is still living in the house she once own except since the sale on the house has been finalised, she has not been able to find a new house because of the lockdown.

So her name is not on any title dead right now.

Minnie took to her Instagram Stories to share her anxiety over the situation.

“I just realised that we are officially homeless. We sold our house, everything has been finalised but we haven’t found another house because of lockdown,” she said on a live video with the sticker, ‘I am not panicking’.”

The TV presenter and businesswoman has been sharing her experience of the lockdown with her fans, including how the change of pace had forced her to deal with the grief of losing her brother, Khosini. Her lockdown glam also made her trend this week.

However, while TV gigs may be on hold, Minnie the businesswoman has been hard at work. The star is helping fight Covid-19 with the launch of her own range of hand sanitisers.

Speaking to Sowetan, Minnie explained that in an effort to reduce the spread of the virus, she’s added alcohol-based sanitisers to her signature MD Skincare range.

“It is something that was in the pipeline as a way to grow and diversify the MD product offering.

Cassper Opens Up About Owing SARS, His Son And AKA Beef The rapper has also revealed his son’s name.

Award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest, dominated the day yesterday following the release of his long-awaited album Any Minute Now (AMN), and and his appearance on Somizi’s coking show Dinner At Somizi.

The rapper had many on the edge of their collective seats when he spilled the beans on a lot of things, including his beef with AKA, upcoming baby, selling his Rolex and losing his brother.

Somizi prepared dinner for him and they decided to dive-deeper into his private life. Cassper who is expecting his baby boy who is set to arrive in any minute with Thobeka Majozi said his son’s name is Kgotso, and he named him after his late brother . The rapper said he wanted to have a son because he lost a brother and his mother lost a son.

“I feel like it’s God coming in full circle saying I give and I take,” he explained. When Somizi asked him about what he wants to teach his son Cassper said, “The most important thing that I would teach my son is to love God and the second thing would be to be fearless to go after your dreams, add your stroke to the painting of the world,” he added,

Cassper said he knows he has changed a lot of things in the world and in the music industry hence he wants his son to follow on his footsteps.

Somizi joked and said in 20 years does he know that he will do an album with AKA, responding to him the rapper said that would never happen but he wants to knock him out

“Nah that is never gonna happen, when it comes to AKA I know him, he was my friend me and him could never be buddies and if I cant gel with you from that level then I can’t make music with you, I see myself getting in the ring and knocking him out.”Cassper said he is the reason why AKA is most successful citing that because of their beef he is forced to work more harder due to their competition. The stars also spoke about landing themselves in hot water with the taxman. Cassper said he owed SARS 12.9 million and said they event went to Samsung.

The rapper is one of the company’s ambassadors and he said SARS thought he even bought a private jet.

Cassper even said he was even forced to sell his Rolex because he was broke.

“The fault is not with SARS problem for me it starts with the education because you go to school and you don’t get taught about tax and you are supposed to and then one day they send you a letter to say bro you are owing.”

“All I kept thinking was yoh Cassper Nyovest on the front page, I was just thinking of the day my cars were in a truck.” The duo said they will never go back to that situation.

Cassper even spoke about his girlfriend saying he is not too clingy and he does not know the color of her cellphone because he is not the guy who is always jealous and concerned about who she is talking to.

The pop duo made up of Ndumiso Mdletshe and Sphelele Dunywa has launched their own record label. traditional elements into their pop-leaning iteration of afro soul. Fittingly, they describe their sophomore album ‘Umuthi’ as “Mbube, African sounds from the ربما تحتوي الصورة على: ‏‏شخص واحد‏، ‏‏‏وقوف‏ و‏أحذية‏‏‏‏mountains.” We caught up with them to shed light on their journey so far and gain some insight into their music-making processes.The multi-faceted duo pride themselves on having full creative control over their art, having honed their skills since they first started in high school. “It’s probably been a straight ten years,” Mdu reveals. “We are full time now and produced, mixed and mastered this ربما تحتوي الصورة على: ‏‏شخص واحد‏، ‏‏جلوس‏‏‏album. We really enjoy making music and we’re always making music.”The result of that dedication is a sophomore offering filled with gripping storytelling and alluring melodies. After a strong first impression, Umuthi is a follow up album more about solidifying and evolving their sound. “The title of the album basically means the medication,” they share. “We wanted to make sounds that would ربما تحتوي الصورة على: ‏‏شخص واحد‏، ‏‏وقوف‏‏‏heal people… that would take people back to their roots but at the same time not move too far away from popular culture.”
