Babes Wodumo announces her album launch. The album launch will take place on 25 November and guests are expected to be dressed in smart casual.In September, she announced that her album would be out this year.“My album is coming out next month, fans will get to hear the last magic we poured out on this album,” she said.

RIP: DiepCity actress Lebohang Lettie Mpyana (Khelina) to be laid to rest

South African actress and comedian Lebohang Lettie Mpyana will be taken to her last place of rest on Saturday, 11 November.

DiepCity star’s funeral service will start at her home in Mmotong, Limpopo, and she will be buried at Mokgokong Cemetry
The actress was popularly known for her role as Khelina on Mzansi Magic’s canned telenovela, DiepCity.Lebohang died at the age of 34 on Wednesday, 1 November.


 

 

 
The life of the actress from Mmotong in Limpopo was celebrated on Wednesday,8 November at Joburg Theatre.Her friends and colleagues gathered and shared their fondest memories of her.

He said Lebohang was gifted and was creative on set as well.“We worked so well and did wonders with her. She was so vibrant and full of life,” said Mandla.

Actor Obed Baloyi, who played the role of Khelina’s husband Ringo on the show, said Lebohang was a beautiful soul.“I enjoyed working with Khelina a lot. I will always miss our moments on the show,” he said.

Lebohang acted alongside legendary actors such as Hamilton Dlamini, Sonia Mbele, Mduduzi Mabaso, and Dawn Thandeka King.

In the year 1986, she joined the Shaka Zulu cast where she played Mkabi in the five-part miniseries.

‘Umkhokha: The Curse’ is the most-watched TV show on DStv

The latest figures from the Television Audience Measurement (TAM) by the Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) reveal that Umkhokha: The Curse is now the most-watched TV show on DStv.BRCSA September 2023 figures also reveal that Mzansi Magic’s drama series Shaka Ilembe is the second most-watched TV show on DStv with 782 650 viewers while Umkhokha: The Curse is the most-watched TV show on DStv with 933 256 viewers.


 

The September figures also reveal that Ggeberha: The Empire is now the third-most-watched telenovela with 761 175 followed by Uyajola 9/9 with 668 354.

The faith-based series which aired its first episode in October 2021 as Umkhokha returned in March 2023 as a telenovela titled Umkhokha – The Curse.

South Africans can’t get enough of the faith-based telenovela which focuses on a gigantic church in KwaZulu-Natal, Ithempeli Lenkosi and stars Deli Malinga as MaMzobe, Sibongile Ngubane as Difa, Nay Maps as Sphamandla, Hope Mbhele as Mabusi and many more.
