Social media is so confusing. For some people they think they are sharing good news (personal info) to their friends, while others enjoy showing off their expensive gifts and lifestyle to strangers for compliments. This is good and bad depending on how you interpret it

We wonder how the experience was for Pearl. Since she has been in some of the greatest movies and shows on Netflix, could Podcast and Chill be much different? We took a peek (or rather, lent an ear) to the podcast, hosted by Mac G.Discussions on depression, colorism, the casting couch, and more. The podcast has had many big stars on it, some of whom include Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Kamo Mphela, and now Pearl.

She appears on episode 211 of the show. She speaks on a range of interesting topics, such as her hit Netflix series Queen Sono. She also opens up on depression, colorism, relationships and the USA. The podcast has a video up on Youtube as well, where we are treated to Pearl’s beautiful house as the backdrop.

She starts by sharing incidents from her childhood and how she got started in show business. We learn of the many hardships Pearl had to go through, such as the passing of her dear parents and her struggles growing up. We also learn about her brief stint in a Church project.Youtube embed

She discusses topics such as the cough casting, working on the sets of Queen Sono, and colorism in society. Pearl shares what drives her. Pearl then goes on to share how her family strived to educate her and her sisters. She feels that she is driven by a desire to make her parents proud, and to protect her
children.

A noteworthy sentiment the beautiful actress shared was that another of her drive is to leave a legacy where African entertainment negotiates at the same and equal level when they meet at the table with the American industry.

Pearl is a talented actress and has always been quite outspoken. She has condemned the killings of foreign nationals in SA. She’s also been quite vocal about women’s rights and urges South African men to take steps to curb gender-based violence. Due to her outspoken nature, she is often on the receiving end of criticism from fans on her Twitter. But we think that this podcast really shows the softer and more intellectual
side of the actress.

Mohale Gets Trolled After Hubby Spends NYE With Vusi Somizi is not having it!

Post main imageThe Mhlongo-Motaung household never gets the chance to catch a small break from trolls who meddle in their business. Even on New Years Eve, Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale Motaung’s relationship as well as Somizi’s friendship with Vusi Nova was placed under scrutiny by many but Somgaga managed to put many in their place.

The rumours of a love triangle have been circulating for some time now but things quickly escalated following reports of a looming divorce. The couple had been alleged to have separated with Somizi moving out of their marital Dainfern home. The matter was especially sparked by Somizi’s social media posts, where he was seen posing next to one of his properties.

Mohale too was rumoured to be spending less time at their home and was living his best life in the North. Adding fuel to the fire was when Mohale attended his friend’s funeral alone while, his husband was partying a storm in the presence of his “true endless love,” Vusi Nova.”

Allegations of infidelity as well played a major role in the ongoing social media bullying they suffer. It all started when they were still engaged with reports stating that Mohale Motaung, had allegedly two-timed him with a teen identified only as Vuyo Pan.

However, now people are more focused on the fact that Vusi and Somizi are pretty much inseparable as Somgaga celebrated his birthday with Vusi Nova as well as New Years Eve. Mohale was nowhere in sight so that served as confirmation for many.

Mohale got dragged for ‘trying too hard’ when he relayed a sweet message to Somgaga which reads; “If someone sat down and tried to outline the qualities that a stellar partner has, I’m sure the list of qualities would include things like loving, caring, kind, sympathetic, strong, compassionate, astute, intelligent, hardworking, driven, humorous, and little would that person writing that list know that they were describing you!”

The couple spent Christams with their own families and for NYE Mohale was at his grandmothers house, but many expected the two to be in each others arms to welcome the year 2021.

Mohale was trending following a video posted by Somgaga and his bestie singing along to Blaq Diamond’s hit song Summer Yomuthi. Again Mohale was no where in sight.

Having read all the nasty comments, Somgaga clapped back and asked trolls why are they so invested in their personal matters even on NYE. “I have an ask….to the people who are so invested in my love life…..is your festive that bad that you’re so interested in what’s happening between me, Vusi and Mohale….hayi it must be bad shemmmm askies…..how can I help bathong….@mohale_motaung babe siza tu. @novavusi love help,” he clapped back.

Somgaga has had enough!

Dinner At Somizi’s Theft Drama Continues He was served with summons from Hastings Moeng

Post main imageAs successful as season 1 of Dinner At Somizi’s was, getting the ball rolling for season 2 will be a bit difficult for the team as Hastings Moeng is not backing down without a fight. He has escalated his fight against Somizi Mhlongo, Barleader TV & Multichoice by serving the three parties with summons on December 30 2019 for allegedly stealing his idea for Dinner At Somizi’s.

Hastings Moeng demands compensation as well as an additional 15% interest for Somizi’s cooking show as it is his brain child. In addition to that he wants to be contracted for the coming seasons of Dinner At Somizi’s and also to deem their verbal contract which was made in 2013 as valid.

Author Eusebius McKaiser revealed the summons on Twitter and the caption accompanying his post reads; “Somizi Mhlongo, Barleader TV & Multichoice have had summons served today on behalf of Hastings Moeng seeking “reasonable compensation” plus “15% interest” as the alleged originator of the concept Dinner With Somizi.

“Moeng wants the court to declare his verbal contract as valid & binding (supported by email evidence that it exists); wants the court to declare the concept underpinning Somizi’s show as Moeng’s brainchild & wants the court to direct “reasonable compensation” to be given to Moeng plus rights to contract future seasons etc.”

When news broke, Eusebius came with the receipts to try and prove Moeng’s claims saying he sent an email to Somizi and Themba on July 28 2014, proposing a cooking show Dinner Kwa Somizi.

“On 28 July 2014, Hastings Moeng proposed DinnerAtSomizis to Somizi & Themba. The description of the show is materially similar to the one now flighted (to the shock of Mr Moeng),” he wrote.

Hastings then sent a treatment synopsis of the show to the producer Legend Manqele and they apparently used his concept to produce the show.

“On 2 September 2016 Hastings Moeng wrote to Legend (the current producer) with a synposis for #DinnerAtSomizis . You can see the treatment synopsis below. And judge for yourself. Why is IP theft so rife in entertainment? Multichoice is being coy despite being shown this.”

Denying these allegations, Somizi said he did not receive any email from Hastings, and he also said he does not open his own emails. Somgaga did not dispute the fact that he was approached by Hastings to do the show, adding that he was approached verbally by Hastings.

“I only spoke to him once. I think it was in 2013, not 2014. He told me he wants us to do a cooking show (called) “Dinner with Somizi,” or something like that. But I have never seen any documents.”

The song of the year had almost a million votes, double the amount that got 2nd place and I won’t even mention Big Zulu. Maskandi fans don’t play #UkhoziFMNYE2020

Many South Africans felt that Big Zulu was robbed of his rightful title for his smash hit ‘Imali Eningi’ featuring Ricky Ricky.

Ukhozi FM however uses a voting system and many people voted for the song that was crowned and was reportedly slightly off the million mark in terms of votes. Many people were shocked for undermining the Maskandi genre.
