DJ Black Coffee’s Fresh Serves 2021 is off to a great start for the internationally-renowned DJ

Post main imageWorld-renowned and talented DJ Black Coffee is serving us some new music and art on social media. He reminded us that his new album, titled ‘Subconsciously’, is going to drop worldwide in less than a month. He played a clip from the song ‘Never Gonna Forget’, which will be out globally from January 15th. The song sounds sweet and light, and it’s set to a trippy piece of art. We’re excited about the new releases. The DJ has been making waves with several international A-listers, including Drake and Jay-Z.

New year, new beginnings.

It’s great that Black Coffee is ready with fresh new releases. The past few years were tough on him as he separated from his wife and had to put a tour on hold due to COVID-19. Still, the artist has mentioned that he was grateful for the time off in Wakanda as it gave him a break. He was able to sit down and think over his life. He was also able to spend some quality time with his son and his family.A reflective time.

The talented DJ shared on his social media how he spent his time off. On one of his trips, he went on a safari with his male relatives. Looking dapper from head to toe – the internationally renowned DJ shared pics of his cool outfit. He shared his look on Instagram, along with pics of his crew – everyone looking sharp. In the same post, he discussed having uncomfortable but deep conversations together, where they analyzed who they were and how to reconnect with themselves and to nature.

It really does sound like the DJ had a deeply introspective time with his fam. The artist does take breaks occasionally, to reflect on his life and actions. Last year, during an Instagram Live Q & A, he said, “It’s really a blessing to be home and realize what I went through last year, I know I am a winner and I’m using this time to work on me. I am quarantining with my son. It is a blessing that I am spending time with him and now everything is real.”Now he seems fresh and ready to attack the new year with his sweet sounds. We’re waiting for the new track and, of course, the new album to drop. We just hope this year, fans are less ready to pick on what the DJ is wearing in his pics!

Lerato Kganyago Starts Slaying 2021 She is kicking off 2021 just like she wrapped up 2020

Post main imageOur favorite media personality, Lerato Kganyago, has already started making her mark just a week into the year. She’s absolutely glowing, if her new reel on Instagram is anything to go by. She shared a gorgeous glimpse of her ‘no makeup’ look. We’re so impressed. Look at that skin, and those amazing, thick, luxurious lashes!

Serving fluttery looks.

But it isn’t just beauty and glamor for this media personality. She’s also doing very important work for society. Lerato’s brand, Flutter, has been in the news lately. They’ve made their products available to women in Namibia. Flutter sells beautiful eyelashes under their brand. Perfect for Kings and Queens who make a statement. We wonder whether Lerato was wearing a pair of Flutter Lashes in the Reel?Doing good work for society.

Flutter also sells sanitary pads and have recently made their products available to women in Namibia. Sold under the brand name Flutter by LKG, the radio host and DJ plans on ending ‘period poverty’ in South Africa by giving women and girls access to these sanitary pads.“Millions can’t afford to maintain menstrual health. We’re fortunate to be able to play a role in the eradication of period poverty in SA, one home at a time,” tweeted Lerato.
Fans responded positively, with a few asking how they can get access to these pads to distribute to young students. One person commented on how important it is for men to be a part of the efforts to normalize the topic and give help to those who need it.

She feels strongly for this cause and feels that it’s something that can be eradicated. The DJ is a breath of fresh air when compared to many celebrities who don’t use their platform to improve society. It would be a huge step in the right direction if we all took steps to help eradicate something as debilitating as this. Lack of access to sanitary pads is one of the worst issues a young girl can face. This isn’t the first time Lerato is using her money and fame to make a social impact. In the past, she had shared her personal experience of suffering from anxiety. Her social media soon became a platform for her fans to share their experiences with the disease. We admire how this powerful woman empowers people to talk about difficult topics.

Uzalo Producers Pull Their Socks Up No more boring Uzalo!

Post main imageAs the country’s most watched telenovela, Uzalo is often faced with the pressure of being on top of their game. Many people have expressed how disappointed they are of Uzalo’s constant repetition of storylines making it less exciting.

Following the SABC’s cautionary advice to the production team, they have decided to pull their socks up. The drama series was skating on thin ice with the broadcaster after losing more than 2.6 million viewers in a short space of time. After the broadcaster’s intervention, they have upped their game and viewers can expect hotter content for the following season.

One of the main actors who has been with the show for 4 seasons Masoja Msiza who plays Nkunzebomvu Mhlongo, told Daily Sun that the show’s storyline has been tweaked for season 5. The cast has returned to work and filming has resumed, so when they got handed their scripts, a sense of joy was instilled in them.
The entertainment industry is very cut-throat and with the current pandemic, actors always cross their fingers hoping to have their contracts renewed yearly. Uzalo’s dwindling numbers instilled fear and the cast and crew members were crossing their fingers. They were also apparently underpaid which resulted in their poor performance.

In their investigation, the broadcaster found that there was a direct correlation between the two factors and their immediate intervention was imminent.
“Yes, there are issues with Uzalo because of its dwindling numbers and the complaints we received from viewers who said the storyline was now boring. We urged the producers to come up with creative storylines to rescue the soapie because it was important to the SABC. Another thing we emphasized was that actors need to be paid decent salaries for their work,” an executive told Sunday World.Much to their surprise, SABC decided to give Uzalo another shot by keeping them in production for three more years. SABC 1 had announced a 3-year agreement with Stained Glass, which produces Uzalo.

“Uzalo has earned it and its performance speaks for itself. The property has broken a set of records in the industry for a soapie or a long-running drama series. It’s the youngest entry in the SABC stable and it is phenomenal what the property has managed to achieve despite the challenges this year has shown not only in the broadcasting landscape but the country as a whole. ” says Sane Zondi – SABC 1’s Programmes Manager.
