Muvhango’s Airing Days Cut By SABC 2 As Poor Viewership Numbers Cost Soapie

Muvhango's Airing Days Cut By SABC 2It seems that the dropping viewership numbers of SABC 2 soapie Muvhango have come to haunt the show after its airing days were cut. SABC 2 has announced that from August 2021, Muvhango will start airing on only 3 days instead of the current 5 days.

In sweeping new changes, the station announced that Muvhango, which will be celebrating its 14th birthday this year, will retain its 9 PM slot. However, the Word of Mouth produced soapie will only air new episodes between Monday and Wednesday.

In sweeping new changes, the station announced that Muvhango, which will be celebrating its 14th birthday this year, will retain its 9 PM slot. However, the Word of Mouth produced soapie will only air new episodes between Monday and Wednesday.

The changes seem to be an indictment of the soapie’s dropping viewership numbers. It seems hard to imagine but barely one year ago, Muvhango’s viewership surged and the show had a massive 5 million viewers in March 2020, during the coronavirus induced national lockdown.ome have previously opined that the show’s viewership ratings have been declining because they’re not giving their viewers what they want. Some viewers were not happy with the way great actors were leaving the show, either through resignations or through having their characters killed off the show with the major talking point being the resignation of‌ Khathu Ramabulana who played Hulisani (Rendani’s husband) in October.

We hope that the producers of the show will be able to right the ship and bring it back to its glory days.

Happy Birthday to Litebogo Molise

Post main imageBut considering that she is all about her business, she’s one of the few actresses who live a super private life regardless of her career on television.

Most of you know her as Teboho Mukhwevo from Muvhango, but when the director shouts “Cut” and the camera lights go off, Liteboho goes back to her regular life as a businesswoman and mom.

These are just some of the few interesting facts we’ve come to learn about the actress.

Origin and career

The 30-year-old actress was born and raised in Lesotho in a District called Butha-Buthe. She may be an actress but she studied political science and administration. In a tell-all SABC 2 interview, Liteboho admitted that her dream was not to study political science but to study drama theatre and music because she always thought that she was going to be a superstar.Liteboho once shared that she once auditioned for an older character on the show, but unfortunately, did not get the part. However, the casting directors liked her so much that she received a callback, she again didn’t get the part she was called for but six months later she eventually got the part to play the role of Teboho Mukwevho. Liteboho has revealed that her Teboho character has been a life-changing experience for her as an actress. Apart from acting Liteboho is also very much into beauty cosmetics, chances are if you ever bumped into the actress in public, you’ll find her dolled up in the most exquisite of makeup.

However, considering that she puts on a lot of makeup on and off camera, Liteboho does spend a reasonable amount of time googling home remedies that will help her keep her skin youthful plus she does a lot of facials once a month.

Cassper To Become SA’s First Hip Hop Billionaire Sorry AKA!

It seems as though Cassper Nyovest is over the boxing match just like some of us have been for a very long time now. The match between him and fellow rapper AKA has been prolonged, causing the hype to even die down.Post main image

After making fans wait for more than 4 years for the boxing match to take place, Cassper has seemed to have thrown in the towel. This after many years of bickering, going back and forth, chickening out then re-committing, swearing at each other’s parents, twarring, the name-calling and the subbing, the two nemeses will no longer be settling their differences in the boxing ring. What a shame!

Taking to Twitter to let his fans in on the boxing match, Cassper has expressed how bored he is of the non-ending negotiations as well as the tardy decision making from AKA’s camp. So much so that he has decided to chicken out of the fight.
In other exciting news, he promised his fans to be more consistent in dropping major projects this year, promising that his next release will be sooner than most anticipate. “I got a dope project I’m working on. A first of its kind. Might be ready 1st quarter of the year.”

Cassper is also working on breaking a record American rapper Jay Z first broke when he became Hip Hop’s first billionaire. He wants to be Mzansi’s first billionaire rapper. Go Cass! “Another step into the direction of becoming South Africa’s first Hip Hop Billionaire. We thinking outside the box. Super excited!!!”The rapper wants to put the whole fight behind him and focus on other things that will help him rake in those millions which will eventually tally up to a billion.

“To be honest, that fight probably won’t happen. Too many cooks, lies, stunts, egos. At some point I thought we would come to an agreement but I don’t see it happening anymore & I’m bored of going back and forth. I signed last year and signed again this week and dololo so ANDIZI!”

We do not know who to believe as both their versions differ. Cassper says he signed the contract twice and accuses AKA, the man who came up with the whole idea, of chickening out by not signing the contract.

On the other hand, AKA posted a picture of the contract and implied that he signed the papers, and it was Cassper who was dragging his feet.Cassper dissed AKA and said, “Lmao. That contract is going to go back into the drawer it’s been chilling in nicely for months now. That guy doesn’t want to fight. I’ll believe it when the signed contract is handed in.”

When AKA deleted the post, Cassper implied that AKA is scared to get in the ring with him but wants to fight him in public spaces. “What did I say? Tweet deleted, tail tucked back into the a**. All talk!!! No action!!! He wants to start fights at clubs and damage my brand that I worked hard to build so we can both suffer at the bottom. I’m not into that. Let’s get in the ring, no bodyguards to save you.”

We really do not know which is which but we sincerely do not hope the rappers to throw fists at each other in public. That would not be good for their reputations.

The River’s Tumi Must Go? Tumi ‘No Tears” Mokeona.

Post main imageIt is starting to become clear that one thing that the writers at The River should not do is give actor, Larona Moagi, emotional scenes. It seems that every time that the good sis is tasked with crying maybe not that- but tasked with giving as much as her co-stars in intense scenes, it always goes left. With every time that it goes left, the calls for the good sis to maybe take a permanent break from the role intensifies. The latest calls for Larona to take a break comes as the most anticipated- and anti-climactic scene finally took place. The cliffhanger from the last season was when Lindiwe Dikana would, played by Sindi Dlathu, finally find out that Tumi Mokeona, played by Larona, had killed her half-sister, Mbali Dikana. Well, yesterday things came to an end when Lindiwe finally exempted her revenge and almost killed her last surviving daughter. Lost? Check it out below. The scenes were lauded. First, it was the brilliance of heartthrob actor, Thambinkosi Mthembu acting skills as Mabutho. Then the-expected-but-never-enough kudos that Dlathu received from her realistic portrayal about what a mother would do if she found out that her one child killed her other. Dlathu continues to raise the acting bar, almost solidifying her name as the Beyoncé of telenovelas because wow.

Fans than brought up one of the only past wrongs- arguably- that the telenovela has done in its history of producing quality television; firing actor, Moshidi Motshegwa who played, the still relevant and beloved character of Malefu. Moshidi’s departure from the soapie is surrounded with speculation as to what really happened.

The running and most consistently told story is that Moshidi, like many The River viewers, did not feel that Warona was hitting the spot when it comes to acting. Being a veteran actress, Moshidi is alleged to have asked not to be placed in scenes with her onscreen daughter. The viewers thought it was fair considering Warona’s acting that gotten better, while the soapie thought she was a diva and fired her. Now people are suggesting maybe we can swap them around- but they killed of Malefu’s character so…

Dinner At Somizi’s Producer Breaks His Silence.just a coincidence

Post main imageBarleader TV CEO Legend Manqele has finally broken his silence about the allegations of theft levelled against him, Somizi Mhlongo-Motaung and Multichoice. Hastings Moeng claims that Dinner At Somizi’s was his concept and not that of Legend Manqele and Somizi Mhlongo. Legend Manqele has released a statement in order to clear himself of any wrongdoing, adding that his silence has not been an admission of guilt however it was to allow the law to take its course.

Parts of the statement as quoted by Sunday World reads as follows:

“The original concept of the cooking show was created during the level 5 and 4 lockdown as a virtual cooking show hosted by Somizi and his husband, Mohale; the show was named “Straight Out Of The Kitchen”. With comedy and music shows going virtual, there was a clear need for this kind of show. The show would see the newlyweds host normal South Africans in their kitchen via Zoom or Skype whilst cooking and chatting. The guests would also be required to cook. Somizi had initially intended to launch a cooking show on his YouTube channel, I approached him and suggested that he consider the TV route instead as his customer base was already sitting with the channel.”

“While Multichoice was initially on-board with the idea of a virtual cooking show they suggested a few changes to the format and they also suggested that we change the name of the show from “Straight Out Of The Kitchen” to Dinner At Somizi’s. After shooting three episodes of the cooking show, Multichoice requested that more changes be made to the format. A collection of emails exist which set out these chain of events. The documentary evidence that we have is quite clear. Simply, the idea for the show did not originate from Mr Hastings nor was there any theft or plagiarism of Mr Hastings’s idea. All allegations in this regard are patently false and are without merit. The fact that what was ultimately presented on television screens is similar to an idea that Mr Hastings had eight years ago is nothing more than a coincidence.”

He then admitted that Hastings approached him to pitch his idea eight years ago whilst he was at the gym,

“It is correct that Mr Hastings approached me at the gym approximately eight years ago, in the early stages of my business and told me about an idea that he had for a cooking show. I gave him my email address and asked that he email me. I do not recall ever receiving the email that Mr Hastings sent to me 8 years ago. In fact, the evidence clearly shows that I never even opened the email from Mr Hastings. The email was delivered to my mailbox and formed part of the hundreds of unopened emails in my mailbox. I also point out that, at the time, it was not out of the ordinary for me to engage with Mr Hastings at the gym and to give him my email address as I was still relatively young in the industry and was still quite shy about drawing boundaries where the distribution of my personal information was concerned.”

He then goes on to say that Multichoice attempted to solve the matter with Hastings in private, however, nothing fruitful came out form the meeting.
