Penny Lebyane And Ntsiki Show Nampree Support In Peaceful Protest

Penny Lebyane And NtsikiWomen and men of all ages gathered outside local paper Sunday World’s offices to hold a peaceful protest, after the publication continued to spread news of a ‘fake apology’ from Nampree to DJ Euphonik.

The alleged victim of the rape incident Ms. Madikizela had continuously defended herself saying she did not apologise to Euphonik neither does she have his number. In the supposed apology, Nampree seems to “admit” that she was paid by certain people to fabricate a rape story.

After being called out for photoshopping the supposed WhatsApp text, Euphonik laughed the whole incident off and made a joke about it. Whilst a livid Ms Madikizela tried to defend herself from people who texted her and called her using the number that was exposed by Euphonik.

The publication continued to publish the story and share it on their social media. This caused many social media users to drag the publication and also birthed the idea of a peaceful protest outside their premises in Dunkeld West, North of Johannesburg.“This morning we’re in Dunkeld West, North of Johannesburg where women are staging a picket outside Sunday World offices in response to a recent article published by the paper this past weekend. #IBelieveHer group says the paper is complicit in the abuse of women.”In attendance was poet and activist Ntsiki Mazwai who dedicated most of her time voicing out her disapproval of the rape accused and showing support to rape victims at large. At the forefront with her at the #IBelieveHer movement was DJ Fresh’s ex lover Penny Lebyane and Rosie Motene.

Metro FM’s DJ Mo Flava on the move

Mo Flava1METRO FM DJ Mo Flava may soon be leaving the SABC for Primedia’s 94.7 to replace the axed DJ Fresh and Euphonik on the afternoon drive slot.

The two were axed recently following rape accusations.

Well-placed sources told Daily Sun the seasoned broadcaster was approached by Primedia to replace the DJs because they wanted someone with credibility

“They wanted someone who’ll redeem the station from the recent rape drama that has been unfolding in the public recently. They feel their image has been dented. After long discussions, they agreed Mo Flava was the perfect man for the job.”

Mo Flava’s radio experience and clean public image were apparently the deciding factors that made him a top contender to replace the fired stars.

“He’s been in the radio industry for many years and has never been involved in any scandal, even at the SABC. And the fact that he’s a respected DJ also played a part because they had to get someone who could make listeners forget about the whole rape debacle. Having him there was the obvious choice,” a second source said.
According to a third source, Mo Flava will drop the mic at Metro FM at the end of this month.

“Come end of March, he won’t be with Metro FM anymore when he starts his new journey with 94.7, which he’s excited about.

“While this is a new chapter for him, it’s also going to be a challenge because of what happened. But he’s a solid DJ so he has the ability to restore the station’s public image.”

Primedia publicity manager, Keagile Makgoba, said: “A process is under way to identify a host for the 94.7 afternoon drive show.

“No decision has been taken and we continue to engage positively with several candidates. Once an agreement has been reached we’ll make an announcement.”

When contacted by the SunTeam for a comment, Mo Flava refused to comment.

Warren Masemola Bags A New Role On Isiphindiselo Yass Sir!!!

Post main imageFormer The River and SAFTA award-winning actor, Warren Masemola has secured a supporting role on the upcoming show, Isiphindiselo which is produced by ETV.reported yesterday that Zamani Mbatha who currently plays the role of Pule Ndlovu on Rhythm City will also be joining the show as a leading role in the upcoming novella. It is unclear for now when Isiphindiselo will debut on our screens. Here are some comments from fans of both actors on social media:

“He is a great actor, congrats to him.”

“He’s been gone honeng vele. Congratulations to him.”

“I think this show will be aired on eExtra. Congratulations to him.”

“Crush yaka.” LOL…Warren the bhoza….festival of dust.”

Both Mbatha and Masemola have gone through some hard times in their careers with Mbatha having been involved in two shows that got cancelled within 5 years of his career and Masemola going broke at one point of his career.

Mbatha played his name sake on Isithembiso which like Isibaya was produced by Bomb Productions and got cancelled by Mzansi Magic due to poor ratings. Mbatha expressed his devastation when Rhythm City got cancelled by ETV last year:
“I am sad and heartbroken about it. However, I will not carry it with me the whole way up until the end. So, I have decided that I am going to make the most of the last months I have on the show, performing even 10 times better than now.”

Masemola previously took to Instagram to reveal that his character on Tjovitjo which is now available on Netflix was the most challenging character he’s ever played in his career. The award-winning actor also shocked his followers when he opened up about being broke and not getting roles when he just graduated:

‪”This has been my most challenging role to date, the realness drew me in. ‪It is the state of the nation at the moment. ‪So much of it is heartbreaking to watch because it is so real. ‪It is the places and the people that the country doesn’t normally see on TV.

I’ve been very broke before. When I finished drama school, starting out as an actor, it was really tough. I shared a two-bedroom cottage with a friend of mine … it was six months of being really bad. We had to do odd jobs and go on to other things.”
