Bonang’s Hints At Another House Of BNG Soiree Her baby is going to turn two years old!

Post main imageBonang Matheba might have taken a break from any television and radio work but as we have come to expect from the queen, resting on her laurels is not an option. The former “Top Billing” personality is planning something and has begun with the promotional campaign towards the expected big announcement.

Queen B* is the face- because the matter of ownership is in question- of her MCC brut and brut rose alcoholic beverage, House of BNG. The brand launched back in March 2021. The launch was a victory lap for the personality following a little hurdle when she first signed her contract to start her now certified multi-million business. If you do not remember the-girl-with-vineyards win that the star had when she launched her brand, here is a little reminder.
In the first year following the release of the House of BNG, Bonang cemented herself as the leader in the game following primary supermarket distributor Woolworths named House of BNG as the number one selling alcoholic beverage in their stores. Moreover, the announcement was followed by the announcement of a decline in the sales of actual champagne, with suggestions alluding to the popularity of the MCC as the reason.

In the second year of the continued chronicles Bonang upped the ante by diversifying her brand. First was the introduction of the House of BNG Prestige. Remember, the Prestige was released in the midst of the panorama in South Africa. But the good sis managed to serve as she had was featured as the guest-of-honour during 2020’s Sun Met.

Not to mention how she launched the canned versions of the House of BNG MCC brut and brut rose. The canned versions changed the game and marked Matheba as not only an entertainment force, but a formidable businesswoman. The canned versions of the House of BNG were specifically designed to cater to the market of young, black, aspirants that possibly considered the bottled version out of their price range. But the star recently took to her social media pages to remind us that her baby is soon set to turn two years old. Bonang shared a video of how her popular beverages are made in the video that paid homage to her girls-with-vineyards wins. The video is titled “Harvest,” and features the star getting her hands dirty with the making of the House of BNG. Not just that, but the star has begun to hint that the celebrations are set to be in the queen’s style- BIG!

My Cousin Died Of Covid19″ Siv loses his cousin to Covid19

Post main imageTelevision personality and actor Siv Ngezi has just opened up about losing his cousin to Covid19. He shared the sad news through Twitter, also revealing that his cousin got infected while caring for his parents.

The actor proudly announced his latest gig with an image of Sivanna dressed in a nude looking jumpsuit and a black and white IVY park sash and captioned the image with:

Even though Ngesi clarified that he wasn’t paid for the gig, his shoot didn’t sit well with Tweeps who felt that his alter-ego was stealing opportunities for other drag queens who have been struggling to get such exposure.

Ngesi stated: “My intentions are pure … but only time will show this!”

Ngesi also gave a statement to TshisaLIVE to clarify his intentions: “I understand the backlash and I understand why, because the bigger picture was never communicated to everyone. I am a proud ally and I believe the art form needs to be seen and recognised much more in SA and I am going to do what I can to make sure that it happens.”

Some members of the LGBTQIA+ community felt that Ngesi as an ally should be supporting them and not taking away their opportunities…they felt that it would have been better if he gave the modelling gig to a real drag queen and not one who was acting like a drag queen.

He was also defended by Manila von Teez, who is a drag performer:

“Hey all, in response to the Sivanna post I think everyone is not aware of the bigger picture. I’ve been doing this for just over 10 years, and some drag queens, even longer. Reality is that no matter how hard we worked, South Africa as a whole never really accepted the art form. We have sent hundreds of proposals for sponsorship, brand support etc over the years, and not had positive response or support.”

The rest of Von Teez’s statement is available on Ngesi’s Twitter timeline!

Here are more reactions from the LGBTQIA+ community, tweeps and celebrities who supported Ngesi and who opposed his shoot:

“I love you, but Uhm, this is the definition of take up somebody else’s space. One month vs. Lifetimes of work from revered SA queens-it doesn’t sit right.”

Mmusi Maimaine commented: ” To counter that I would say let’s not unfairly limit Sivianna on her drag journey either by requesting “sufficient time in the industry”. This is what Sivianna wants to do and she gets opportunities then she should go for it. If she is authentic then it must be embraced.”
