“Little did you know the difference you would make” – Vuyo Mbuli’s wife Savita praises his legacy

“Little did you know the difference you would make” – Vuyo Mbuli’s wife Savita praises his legacy.

Savita, Vuyo Mbuli’s wife, has expressed how proud she is of the legacy her husband, Vuyo Mbuli, left behind.

Vuyo Mbuli presented SABC 2’s Morning Live for 13 years.

Vuyo passed away 10 years ago at the age of 46 after passing out while watching a rugby match at Bloemfontein’s Free State Stadium.“You know my husband did this”
On Friday, Savita posted a picture of herself visiting his grave on her timeline and talked about how Vuyo helped those in need.

She shared Vuyo’s contribution to helping a community of Port Alfred that lived on the riverbanks in unsafe informal structures.

“You are a Legend! Truly so! Little did you know the difference you would make to the lives of so many people. In the beautiful town of Port Alfred there was an ugly part not shown in pictures. The other side. Where communities lived on the riverbanks in unsafe informal structures that would be swept away if the tide became too high or during rainy season. People would come back from work/school homeless.

“This bothered my husband and gave birth to the first Private Public Partnership. He called local, provincial, national governments and a bank put them on TV. Fast Forward. Today there’s a thriving community.. in a relatively big township.. like bigger than Pimville’s Zone 4 & 5 combined😊 living in decent homes. All because my husband was.”

“What moves me even more is the stories people who live there tell. Some are so expressive when they see me in town. I think of the generations that will benefit. I flex on my kids when we pass there and be on some “You know my husband did this”. On days when I’m nice to them I’ll be on: You know your Dad did this”. It’s always a warm conversation starter❤️ A story they’ll share with their children and their children’s children.”

STATEMENT BY DR NANDIPHA MAGUDUMANA
“Friends and family, It is with a deep humility and respect to share this piece of communication with you.
It’s been a few months since my illegal incarceration at Bizzah Makhete Correctional Centre in Kroonstad but I would like to assure you that I am holding on, in faith. The deep conversations I’ve been having with God give me strength with each passing day.
Though the last few weeks have not been easy I am more convinced than ever that there is a reason and a purpose for everything.

To my family and the people that have been supporting and praying for me, thank you very much. May the Almighty shine His face on you and give you peace that surpasses all understanding.
Through my lawyers, I am aware of the many untrue statements, narratives and conclusions surrounding my arrest and I will deal with such at a more appropriate level.
As women’s month comes to an end I’m reminded about the struggles women face in our country. In the near future I will soon be in a position to give you deeper insight on the following:
The many painful times I have suffered physical, emotional, financial and sexual abuse at the hands of powerful men, including some of the most powerful & prominent families in South Africa currently occupying the highest offices in government and business.
• My painful experience at the correctional facility including the plight of woman inmates and the violation of their human rights.
• The merits concerning the allegations against me and the events which transpired in Tanzania are currently before the courts and will also be addressed at a more appropriate time.
I am also aware of the various productions being shot about my life, and I’d like to categorically state that if my voice or that of my legal team is not represented, there is likely no truth or credibility to that story. I have conditionally granted a black woman owned production company from South Africa exclusive rights to my story and our lawyer

‘I had to find a balance ’: The Wife actor Kwenzo Ngcobo speaks on losing his father.

Revered actor Kwenzo Ngcobo has opened up about his career-defining role as Qhawe Zulu in Showmax’s much-loved series, The Wife, in 2022 and 2023.

Unfortunately, with the celebrations also came grief for the KwaZulu-Natal-born actor who lost his father at the end of March last year.

KWENZO NGCOBO ON LOSING HIS FATHER AFTER SHOOTING ‘THE WIFE’
Speaking to SowetanLIVE, Ngcobo said that he had to find a balance dispite what he was going through.

“Life after The Wife was quite rewarding and challenging at the same time. I lost my dad shortly after we finished shooting the series last March,” he said.

“I’m the type of person who prefers to keep my things private. I prefer to separate my life from my work… I didn’t want what I was going through to affect my job. I knew I had to bring my A-Game despite what I was going through.

“In the same breath, I had to find a balance and not neglect the tough phase I was in. I’m very grateful I had a supportive system around me. My crew as well as my family helped me through that trying time.”

Ngcobo says his father taught him the importance of being independent. He also taught him how a man should act and uphold his responsibilities

“He was very proud of my success and how far my passion got me. When I was studying and trying this acting thing out with theatre shows, my mom and dad were very supportive… they were the fuel I needed to keep going despite the financial constraints,” the actor says.

NEW ACTING ROLES
The 32-year-old actor’s star is still shining, as he has bagged a role as talent manager Zipho in Mzansi Magic’s latest weekday drama, Champions. He also plays Alex Shabane in new Netflix action film, Soon Comes Night.

“Despite how easy it was for me to score my next role [after The Wife], I was labelled as a difficult actor with diva tendencies but such a narrative didn’t scare me. I made a thorough introspection and I know I was never wrong. They even tried to blacklist me but as a child of God, nothing like that sufficed,” he said.

In an interview with TshisaLIVE, the Looking For Love actress said the real plug into a happy marriage is to marry your best friend, which she’s found in her hubby Armando My marriage life has been such a beautiful journey. I got married to my best friend and we understand each other. He allows me to be the person I wanna be and more.

“He’s everything good. He’s such an angel. He made me fall in love with myself first before I even fell in love with him… yhu! That guy is such a brilliant man, When he speaks, you definitely listen and he’s so smart,” she said.

Phindile and her hubby have one child each from previous relationships. They are determined to focus on those children and themselves as a couple before they think about adding to their brood.

“Babies? Not any time soon, like not this year or next year even. I’m not sure when or how soon I will join the mommy club but those are the conversations we are having because I think we’ve had enough of a good time without lil ones. Ses’jole enough now.”

Phindile said while the baby conversation may be back on the table, she and her hubby are not willing to rush the process.

“We didn’t want to rush into having kids. We wanted to have a jol first, know each other, enjoy each other. We wanted to make all the memories we want to have as a couple because as you know, small kids take over your lives. We didn’t just wanna meet and have kids then devote all our time to raising the kids when we haven’t had time to enjoy ourselves as a couple. But when the time is right, I’ll be happy to join the mommy club again.”
