Many of her followers took to her comment section to motivate the young wife while commending her for the respect she has for her hustle. Netizens further rooted for how she continues to do this with the support of her husband, despite the public opinion of others.

For those who may not know, in the Xhosa culture it used to be a norm for a makoti to confirm to certain societal rules, with some set by the family. Those often included letting go of a life associated with outdoors, especially partying as the aim has always been seen as to build a home. Time passed and many couples chose to live their truths, doing what works for them regardless of what the societies deems as a norm and not. There are however some who still strongly believe and practice those societal rules strongly.

The late Anele Tembe, who was famously known for dating slain rapper AKA, was honoured with a library at her former high school, Durban Girls’ College.

Anele fell to her death on the 10 of April 2021 at the Pepper Club Hotel in Cape Town.

Receiving donations from the Tembe family, the library at Durban Girls’ College was designed by an alumna, Andrea Kleinloog, emphasising the recognition of excellence.

According to TimesLIVE, Anele’s brother, Vukile, said, “Anele loved her school, it shaped part of who she was. We knew this.”

He describes her as someone enthusiastic about studying and education, adding, “Libraries may have a long-term influence on a community if they are maintained regularly, and given Anele’s school has more than 100 years of history, I am confident they will do a good job of maintaining this homage for future generations. It has not been an easy road to recovery after her passing.”

“Over the past three years, it has been a process of healing, turning to God, and engaging in activities that bring us comfort – prayer, exercise, and spending time with supportive family and friends. Therefore, I am thankful for the support of my family and friends,” he told the publication.

Pictures of the new library were posted on X (formerly Twitter) where her dad Bab Tembe is seen amongst the people at the school.
