After conducting interviews, Khumalo was chosen Head of Surgery over Zondo, who reacted negatively to the news and expressed her disdain. However, Khumalo has also demonstrated that he is a diligent physician; when lightning hit Mbali’s ceremony, he acted immediately to assist the patients.
