Harriet Manamela returns to Skeem Saam and appreciates Florence Masebe for taking on her role as Meikie.

Veteran actress Florence Masebe recently made her debut on SABC1’s long-running daily drama, “Skeem Saam”.

The award-winning actress and author took on the role of Meikie Mapula, which was previously played by actress Harriet Manamela, who was not able to film season 12.Since filming of the new season, the production team have been mum on Manamela’s absence, stating only that she had an “undisclosed illness” and had to be away for “an extended period of time”.

Months later, Manamela has taken to social media to let her fans in on what happened and why she needed time off screen.

“May I take this moment to say I have recovered 🙏,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I had a hip replacement surgery beginning of the year hence I was given a break from shooting. Thank you to everyone for wishing me well even though there was no clear explanation why I had to be off the screen & production had to find a sit in for me.”

She continued to share that the support and good wishes from her fans had humbled her.

“Now that production is on a shooting break it’s more time to enjoy seeing people & catching up 😘…”

She also thanked Masebe in a post.

She wrote: “You responded to the call of duty and did what you know best. Being one of SA’s powerful performers we definitely are looking forward to enjoy your episodes and your strong abilities to bringing characters to life🤗

“I humble myself before you sis Flo and say ‘Kea leboga sesi’❤️.”In a separate Instagram post, Masebe wrote: “I am quite excited and honoured to be playing Meiki Maputla (NB! TEMPORARILY) on @SkeemSaam3 from 15th May. I had the most wonderful time on set and am truly thankful for the colleagues that welcomed me with warm arms and hearts…”

Inside Dorothy and Molefe sealing their “forever yena” on House of Zwide

Inside Dorothy and Molefe sealing their “forever yena” on House of Zwide Molefe (Motlatsi Mafatshe) and Dorothy (Brenda Mukwevho) tie the knot on House of Zwide.
Brenda Mukwevho is just months away from her real-life nuptials, but she got a sneak peek experience of wedding jitters through her House of Zwide character Dorothy.

Fan-favourite TV couple Dorothy and Molefe (Motlatsi Mafatshe), will seal their “forever yena” on the e.tv top-rated daily drama starting on Thursday night in a two-episode affair. In real life, the actor, director, and TV producer is officially off-the-market after fiancé Rashaka Muofhe popped the question in April.

“I don’t want to lie, I wasn’t expecting the proposal that day. I was on set shooting and I remember being told to meet someone at the Soweto Towers [in Orlando East]. I went there and to my surprise, my fiancé was standing there ready to pop the question,” she said.

“I was in Dorothy’s clothes when my soon-to-be husband proposed. It was a mess of a proposal but definitely one of my most memorable moments because of how private it was. That moment was private… just for him and I but I celebrated our news with our friends and family at the weekend.

“I love the fact that he chose to make the moment private to us so that it’s forever engraved in my heart and mind which I appreciate the most.”The 41-year-old actor plans to have her African traditional wedding to her partner of two years in September and a Western white wedding in November.

“Walking down the aisle as Dorothy felt like a rehearsal and in that moment as we were shooting it became a reality for me. In a way, I could point out how it feels to walk down and what to expect,” she said, laughing.

“I know now how tight my gown should be and which shoes to wear. Of course, I was shooting which is completely different from what I’ll go through at my real wedding day but it showed me the amount of time and energy that will be required for the upcoming day.”

Dorothy and Molefe through their storyline have mirrored the love story of many lovebirds in the township, something Mukwevho prides herself with.

“I am very decisive as a person. So, my wedding dress is already in the process of being made. I’ve already selected the venues and it’s all systems go at this point,” she said.

“Marriage is a huge step in one’s life and speaking on Dorothy’s behalf, she never imagined that such a thing would happen to her. She thought she was not due but she found a man, who a lot of people don’t understand how she survives him because he’s often perceived as a nut case. But somehow these two fell in love in the most honest and genuine way.

UzaloSABC Nonka finds love: Love blossoms between Nonka and Hawu

NONKA may have found love on Uzalo, or has love found her?

Hawu, a village tsotsi and charmer boy who’s trying to change his ways, is after her heart. He’s professed his love and the ball’s now in her court.

These two make such a cute couple. It’s a pity Hawu works with Nkunzi, whom Nonka has now waged a war against. He’ll be caught in the middle, and there’s no telling which way he’ll go.

Nonka clearly loves bad boys; first it was Sibonelo, and then King K, followed by Kwanda and now Hawu. It’s always ended in tears. Let’s hope this is it because she deserves to be in a loving relationship.

Meanwhile, Uzalo’s Mbatha is up to no good again. In his desperate attempt to make quick cash and bring destruction like he always does, he organised a group of men to join him in robbing his former church.

Worst of all, they came heavily armed during a Sunday service, leaving everyone shaken. He stole the church equipment, saying he wants to bring the church to his knees.

If that’s not taking things too far, I don’t know what is. He’s the perfect example of the Bible verse which says “Money is the route of all evil.” Perhaps it’s not only money he wants but possibly the position he once held in the churchOn House of Zwide, Shoki has been kidnapped. This happened after she tried to lure Kopano in to get back the money he stole from her husband Nkosi’s family business.

However her plan, which she executed with Nkosi and Nkosi’s stepmum Faith, backfired. She’s now stuck with Kopano, who’s extremely obsessed with her and is planning to take her to Mozambique and then an island in the middle of nowhere.

She’s suddenly acting all lovey dovey with him, and it looks genuine. I hope she’s just doing it to earn his trust and soften him up so she can find a way to escape. Moreover, cops don’t believe she’s been kped. They’ve told Nkosi to accept that she’s dumped him. It’s now up to Nkosi and his family to bring her home safely. Knowing them, it’s just a matter of time until they do.
