Baby Cele, who joined Uzalo in season four has exited the soapie as Gabisile Mdletshe.

SABC’s long running soapie, Uzalo on Friday, 15 March confirmed actress Baby Cele’s departure from the show.

The soapie thanked Cele for her contribution to the show over the years and wished her well on her future plans.

“Thank you so much @babycele__ for sharing your incredible gift with us. What an honour is has been to have you as a part of the team.”

“Your work ethic, professionalism and warmth set you apart,” said the soapie on social media.

Cele is the second star to leave the show in season ten after Wiseman Mncube, who portrayed her son Sibonelo.

Mncube has joined Mzansi Magic’s My Brother Keeper after his Uzalo character got at the end of season nine.

“I joined the show in October 2017 and ever since I have portrayed the character of Gabisile, I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, as an actress you cannot play a character for too long, so I decided it was time to spread my wings,” she said.

The Blood and Water actress also left Uzalo in 2021 and returned after a well-deserved break. She’s reportedly set leaving for good this time.

Cee adds that she’s played Gabisile for so many years, that the character became part of her life. Leaving the role feels like she’s lost a part of her.

“Uzalo was and will forever be my home, I was loved in the production, I had family, and I was respected. We worked well together, I had family, I was respected, and we worked well together,” she said.

In the storyline, Gabisile divorced her husband, Nkunzi (Masoja Msiza) after their son’s (Sibonelo) death. She also resigned from her job at the fictional radio station and left KwaMashu on Friday, 15 March episode.

TV personality Lerato Kganyago is breathing fire after a man by the name of Siyabonga Kopele, has been sending her messages requesting to see their alleged child.
Siyabonga Kopele posted a video where he said he had done everything he could to see the child in question. He also warned Lerato Kganyago that he would pursue legal action against her and alleged that the influential people who are involved in the situation.An unknown man from East London, Eastern Cape, has been messaging media personality Lerato Kganyago about allowing him to see a child he says they have together.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In a video he shared on X, the man (who calls himself Siyabonga Kopele) claims he has tried everything in his power to see the alleged child.The video shows the man introducing himself as a unemployed citizen who survives on the government’s R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant.

“I have a child that I need to see and they are prohibiting me from seeing the child.

“I have assets; a house and a car; and they are also prohibiting me from getting those. I need help from anyone. I know they know me. I know the media knows me. I’ve been on TV, and I want them to say they don’t know me and I want them to say it’s not my child… let’s prove it,” said the teary-eyed man.

“I’m asking for assistance from everyone and anyone who knows the story about me and Lerato Kganyago. I know Patrice Motsepe will try to bribe everyone. I know Lesetja Kganyago, the governor of the reserve bank [Lerato’s uncle], would also try to bribe everyone to keep me quiet or to keep this quiet because I’m not [from] an affluent family. But, I just want my life back. I just want the truth to come out.”

Kganyago, who is a DJ and Metro FM presenter, asked for anyone who may know Kopele to contact her as she says she has been harassed because of his claims.

“I don’t know YOU and I don’t have children with you OR ANYONE. If anyone knows this gentleman please DM me. I’ve been harassed on my phones, at work, through my colleagues. I know this is a serious problem, and I PRAY your family sees this and assists you!”

Responding to an X user who shared that Kopele might have mental issues, she said: “That’s why I tried looking for his family privately for months so they can assist him. No one has come forward yet. Seems like no one knows him. Wish he can get help.”

However, Kopele replied: “Lerato hai we have been through this before and ventilated it on court.Tell the Truth. How did you buy all the houses? [sic].”

In another post on X, he wrote: “Please I want to see my child.” Kganyago replied: “I just have dogs papa. Please get help. You’ve made my life extremely uncomfortable. I hope you get all the help you need.”FAMILY MEMBER REACHES OUT
After asking for help, an X user who said he was the man’s brother reached out to Kganyago. The X user said that Kopele has mental issues and they were not aware of what he had done.

Minutes later, the businesswoman shared that they managed to track down the man’s family.

“Thank you to those that assisted us in tracking down his family, I hope he gets all the help he needs.”This was not the first time that Kganyago suffered the loss of a child, as she has had four other miscarriages.

In August 2021 the radio host opened up about her devastation at losing yet another baby.

“I was pregnant. I’m sure you guys saw that I was really big … then I had a miscarriage. Yes, I had a miscarriage this year again, it was my fourth miscarriage,” she revealed.
