Our favourite actors always differentiate between themselves and the TV characters they play.

However, actress Brenda Mukwevho couldn’t avoid similarities between her life and her character’s storyline in House of Zwide.

Her character Dorothy is getting married on Thursday and Friday, 6 and 7 June. And she got engaged in April and is planning her wedding.

 

 

 

 

 
She spoke to the publication about her engagement.“I wasn’t expecting it. I mean, you don’t normally expect it until you find out it’s happening. I was taken to the place where the engagement ceremony was held. I’m still in shock and every day when I wake up and see the ring, I realise it more. I think it’s going to be a journey. Even though it’s an engagement, it’s a journey and the bigger journey is marriage,” Brenda said.

She said she and Dorothy are different, but similarities between their journeys captured her.We’re different. She’s a maid and a loudmouth. In real life I’m quiet and a TV producer. We’re opposite, but her story matches my real life. It was nice to witness her experiences.“There are a few elements I’ve seen in the preparations for Dorothy’s wedding. As for me, I had to go with the flow. I’m in the present and enjoying being an engaged woman,” Brenda said.Dorothy and her husband Molefe (played by Motlatsi Mafatshe) needed their family, friends and community to come together and help them with the wedding. And their business was well-known.

“I live a private life, so does my future husband’s family. We’re keen on keeping things in our close circle. Our families take care of things internally. Unlike Dorothy and Molefe, the community comes to the celebrations,” she said.

Brenda has also starred in Muvhango and worked behind the scenes in Rhythm City, The Estate, Inkaba and My Perfect Family.

Well-known South African gospel star, Dumi Mkokstad and his wife Ziphozenkosi Mthembu marked a milestone in their marriage.

Before he left the show late last year, Xaluva played the lead role of ruthless boss, Caesar. After season one, the award-winning actor was reportedly dismissed by the production company following a “money-related dispute” with the production, claims he dismissed. The actor was later replaced by Homla Dandala. However, sources close to the situation alleged that Dandala was not doing justice to the role and viewers were not happy with his performance.
