Former Scandal actress, Nomvelo Makhanya has broken her silence on why she left the popular eTV telenovela, Scandal. 

Earlier on this month, Makhanya made her last appearance on the show whereby her character, Lindiwe Ngema Maseko died just after she gave birth. 

There have been rumours that she quit Scandal and acting altogether, to focus on her relationship with her boyfriend. However, she has dismissed those rumours and stated that the toxic environment at Scandal led to her wanting to call it quits. 

She dropped a bombshell where she stated that it was not her choice to leave but the producers of Scandal killed her character. 

The award winning actress shared a statement in her social media. In a viral video that is circulating on social media, she addressed the rumours about her exit. 

She alleged that Scandal was toxic to the extent that she even thought of taking her own life. 

Makhanya revealed that Scandal wrote off her character, it was not her choice to leave. 

However, she stated that for months, she wanted to leave, and she felt happy when she was removed. There was 99 % chances of doing so.

The cost of living in South Africa has been affecting all the citizens in the country this year with the inflation rates going up, food becoming more expensive, and even basic services that individuals need to run their day-to-day lives and to survive as well. On top of that, citizens have to deal with the fact that their salaries are not increasing, the poverty rate in the country is extremely high, and there is a high unemployment rate, making it difficult for people to survive day-to-day life because their finances are not able to meet the demands of the economy.

And this cost of living does not only affect individuals who are struggling and living in poverty; even people who are in the entertainment industry that sells have been struggling quite a lot this year, and many of them have opened up about it on social media and even went to the point where they asked for financial assistance from their fans because it has been hard for some entertainers in the industry to find jobs and pay their bills.

And it seems like the beautiful South African actress Phandile Gwala might be in the same situation. She is known to many for playing her famous role of Nonny on Muvhango and also Fikile on Imbewu the Seed. Phindile I’d is one of the celebrities in the industry who does not like publicising too much of her personal life, but she is not shy to share her love life.

It has been alleged that the actress has been falling behind with payments of her electricity bill, and she might find herself living in the dark if she does not pay her bill. She was dragged to court after failing to pay a bill of more than R100,000. The Johannesburg-based Bramley Mews body corporate went to court and wants to cut off her electricity.

Things are not going well for one of Mzansi’s popular celebrity as there is a company that has allegedly taken her to court.

Phindile Gwala-Ngandu is a South African media personality known for being an actress and a business woman. Phindile hails from Eshowe which is in KwaZulu Natal. She became popular when she joined Muvhango and appeared as Nonny Nkosi. Phindile who is married to Armando Ngandu moved to other shows such as Uzalo and Imbewu where she currently plays the role of Fikile. Gwala-Ngandu owns a car wash and Shisanyama business with her husband. 

She has been taken to court by Bramley Mews Corporate for allegedly failing to pay her electricity debt of over R100 000. The company is also applying for a court to switch off her electricity if she fails to pay the money that she has been told to pay being R115 641.98. 

 

 

 

“As it appears from the notice of motion, the applicant (Bramely Mews Corporate) seeks an order against the respondent (Phindile Gwala) for monetary payment regarding arrear levies and electricity charges which are due to the applicant by the respondent”, Bramley Mews Corporate said speaking on taking Phindile to court.

“The applicant also seeks an order against the respondent for the disconnection of the electricity supply to the section, pending full payment of arrear levies and electricity charges. This particular relief has necessitated the launching of this court application out of the above honorable court”

It is so sad to see more of elebrities being dragged to court due to debts. They should atleast communicate and reach an agreement of how they can try to work with the companies that they owe before they decide to take them to court. 

Again,celebrities should avoid bigger debts knowing it will be difficult to pay them and that will pain them as bad people in the public eye. Phindile should have said to the company that she was struggling maybe they could have reach an agreement and the debt would have been better unlike now when it’s very high.

Popular Botswana comedian Penene Ponono denies beating his girlfriend Lala Larona. Lala went live on Facebook saying Penene beat her to a pulp and she nearly lost her eye. Penene says Lala is lying, the black eye that she got is the result of bumping into a steering. They had an argument in the car and she was trying to grab his phone from his hand, that’s how she got a black eye. A lot of people did not believe him, they said his story does not make sense at all. He even posted a picture of Lala in his house smiling a day after the incident.
