On Friday, the life of rapper AKA was tragically cut short just before he was scheduled to perform at his birthday party. Only 35 years old when he passed away. From 2009 on, he was always in the spotlight because to songs like “Mistakes,” “In My Walk,” and “Do It.”

With his debut album, Altar Ego, he received three metro FM awards: best new comer, best hip hop, and best produced. And now, just as he was getting ready to drop yet another record, life had other plans for him, plans that none of us could have possibly predicted. And he was snatched from us in a way that we had never anticipated.

On Friday afternoon, he made a social media post in which he said: “As we prepare to release MASS COUNTRY, we look forward to hearing from you on the MEGACY HOTLINE. As we approach February 24th, I will be holding video calls, conversations, and releasing exclusive samples. Keep in touch!! “.

Fans and followers responded to his death by stating he had promised a comeback “soon,” but that he was no longer with them. Which indicates that he put us on hold while life took him.

God rest his departed soul.

AKA’s death is one that many people are still trying to process and has left people in great shock. The artist lost his life just last Friday after leaving an establishment where he was vacationing with his friends in Durban. Unfortunately he did not get to live to see the next day, just as soon as he left the restaurant AKA was shot death by unknown individuals who put a gun right to his head, which they made sure would result in immediate death.

The cctv footage which was released left people in shock, seeing that the only individual who was targeted by the people with the gun was AKA. It has been six days since it was reported that the rapper has died, and to many people, it is still something that is hard to process and come to terms with.

And while people are still trying to understand what the reason behind the shooting was, many speculations have been made on social media, with people stating that he could have been shot by someone who was sent and paid to do the job, like the father of his ex-fiancée, Anele Tembe, who died and committed suicide in Cape Town while at a hotel when she was with AKA.

There was a lot of speculation surrounding her death too, and many fingers were pointed towards AKA. People feel like Anele Tembe’s father could be behind the rapper’s death. But he released a statement in which he wanted to distance himself from the allegations that were made and also stated that he does not have a hand in what he is being accused of. And he feels the pain of the Forbes family and would never be involved in such acts.

As we continue to mourn the death of our legendary artist, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, who is popularly known as AKA, there are so many controversies going on all over social media platforms and the internet at large. This includes random conversations and reasoning of who might have had a hand on AKA’s death, disadvantages of AKA paying lobola for Anele Tembe and so much more.Back in January of 2020, AKA broke the internet with pictures of his late fiancée, Anele Tembe, who would be 24 years old as of 2023.

A lot of people were astounded as they thought him and DJ Zinhle were still in a relationship and he was cheating with Anele Tembe. DJ Zinhle cleared the air that they had long broken up and she kindly asked to not be mentioned in AKA’s affair. After AKA was rumoured to be a womaniser and that his relationship with Anele Tembe would not last, he proved that he had pure intentions about her and thus put and engagement ring on her finger on the 21st of February 2021. Congratulatory messages poured in for the couple whilst they trended on Twitter, topping the list of trending topics on that day. On the 27th of March in 2021, AKA and his father along with her uncles flew to Durban in KwaZulu Natal to pay lobola for Anele Tembe.Following AKA paying lobola, Anele Tembe took her own life after two weeks she has been traditionally married to AKA. This saddened AKA and left him with a burden of having to explain himself that he had nothing to do with the death of Anele Tembe who jumped from the 10th floor from the hotel they were in in Cape Town.

A lady by the name Snethando has recently took it to Twitter that it is her wish that AKA and Anele Tembe never crossed before. She says this because Anele Tembe had been proven that she suffered from various mental illnesses including depression. AKA always had to be the victim of her emotions and her killing herself left AKA with a bad reputation.

Dumi Mkokstad is well-known as a talented gospel musician and composer. A native of Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, the South African musician spent her formative years engaging in a wide range of activities that centered on her family. He didn’t put out anything new for over 17 years before releasing his debut album in 2003.
