Actress and TV anchor Dineo Langa was fired after asking for time off to make another movie; she has been with The Queen since its 2016 premiere. However, following the lockout, the Fergusons sent her a critical email urging her not to return to work.

She explained that her character had been written out of the program in response to another user. Sooner or later, the main character will perish.

Veteran actor Sello Maake ka Ncube, once of Kgosi, also left The Queen with short notice. Despite this, ka Ncube did not explain his departure from the show, stating instead that only the Fergusons knew the truth.
