Deejay and producer Karabo Mokgara, professionally known as DJ Karri, showed love and compassion when he assisted internet star Alostro.


 

 

 

 

Alostro (whose real name is Mahau Loius) gained instant popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown when the South African government relocated homeless people in Tshwane. SABC News interviewed Alostro – one of the homeless people – asking about his circumstances during the lockdown. Replying in quite a confusing way, Alostro said, “Others they gonna na, they are see others here, they have alostro. What is now?”

Mahau was then dubbed Alostro, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Taking to social media this week, DJ Karri shared a few videos and images documenting how he has lent a helping hand by surprising the social media sensation with a makeover.

The deejay first shared how he upgraded Alostro’s wardrobe, followed by a trip to Legends Barber. “A lucky day for Alostro with the special treatment he deserves,” said DJ Karri.
The help did not stop there.

DJ Karri also shared that he was searching for Alostro’s family members as they would need permission for Alostro to go to a rehabilitation centre and sign the documents upon his arrival.

“It’ll be a process to transform his life, but we will get there,” said DJ Karri, who also provided Alostro with a trip to the dentist.
