Kelly Khumalo cancelled from another gig amid Meyiwa murder trial

SINGER LINKED TO HITMAN ?
Recently, a cellphone data analyst and State witness Colonel Lambertus Steyn recently told the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria that one of the five men accused of killing Meyiwa, Fisokuhle Ntuli called the Bazokhuluma hitmaker on two occasions on 2 August 2014 and 15 October 2014. The first call was for close to two minutes and the other was one and a half minute.


 

 

 

Ntuli is a well-known hitman linked to six murders in KwaZulu-Natal and was sentenced to six life terms and 39 years in January 2022.

During cross-examination Steyn told the court that the number he said belonged to Ntuli was not registered under his name in terms of RICA.Singer Kelly Khumalo has been dropped from the Maseru Jazz Festival amid the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.

Khumalo who was the former Bafana Bafana captain when he was killed at her home on 26 October 2014, was removed from the all-star line-up of the ‘A Tribute To Women’ festival. .

The Maseru Jazz Festival will take place on 24 September 2023 at the Maseru Park in Mafikeng, North West.

In a statement, the Maseru Jazz Festival management said they have noted comments on social media about Khumalo.

“The management of Maseru Park in the interest of our Jazz Festival we have taken the decision to relieve Kelly Khumalo of the obligation to perform at our festival, and we acknowledge that she is not guilty until proven so,” the management said.

South African social media users are not about to let Somizi Motaung and Mohale Mogale forget about their short-lived marriage. Every now and then a new joke about the famous ex couple hits the timeline and it’s always hilarious. This week Mohale was the recipient of some light trolling after he posted a snap of the meal that he prepared.

In the comment section, many remarked that the food looked great. Others however accused him of taking the recipe from Somizi’s cookbook.

MOHALE TROLLED OVER HIS ‘SOMIZI INSPIRED’ COOKING
Fans of media personality Somizi Mhlongo all know that he loves spending time in the kitchen. Not only does the former Idols SA judge have his own cook book, he also hosts DStv show Dinner at Somizi’s.

This is why when ex-husband Mohale shared a photo of the meal he prepared this week, Somizi’s fans were full of jokes.

Taking to Twitter, he shared a snap of the meal which he captioned, “I tried”. Take a look at the dish below:

MZANSI GETS TO JOKING
The post almost instantly sparked a number of Somizi jokes. Of course many people also shared compliments with Mohale who they definitely think has some formidable cooking skills.

“This menu is from Somizi’s cooking book, page 11,” one person commented. Another chimed in, “Should we expect Dinner at Mohale’s?”

“That meal is perfect however I’ll substitute the chicken with 2 pieces of lamb chops,” a third added.

Not the first time

This wouldn’t be the first time he was faced with a bit of Somizi humour. Previously he indulged his fans by sharing a Sarafina joke.

Hanover Park heroes: Benni McCarthy praises Desiree Ellis

Benni McCarthy has heaped praise on Banyana Banyana and coach Desiree Ellis for progressing to the Top 16 of the Fifa Womens World Cup.


This following their momentous victory against Italy on Thursday, 2 August.

Both Benni – a retired Bafana Bafana player – and Desiree, who also played for the women’s national team, hail from Hanover Park in the Western Cape.

Benni is now a first-team captain of the UK football league, Manchester United.
On his Instagram Stories, Benni McCarthy sang the praises of the women’s team.

“Congratulations Banyana Banyana. And congrats to my girl Desiree Ellis.

Like Desiree, Benni and his family lived in Hanover Park in the Cape Flats. The area is notorious for gangsterism, violence, and a high unemployment rate.

He told iDiski Times: “She knows now she’s the real king of Hanover Park. Yeah, she’s number one. Hanover Park has a woman king n. She’s the Queen!

He added: “I think Desiree’s got the ability to go and be one of the first to go and coach in Europe because she’s that good!

“I pray that that is her ambition, that she wants to test herself at a much, much higher level, and that one day she goes on and coaches one of the top teams in Europe or the top countries in Europe because that’s where she’s destined for.”

‘FRICKEN AMAZING, ’ SAYS DESIREE ELLIS
In a post-match interview, Banyana coach Desiree Ellis shared her thoughts about progressing to the next round of the Women’s World Cup.

She said of Banyana’s performance: “They fought like warriors; they fought like the heroines that we know they are. They fought like, for, for, to be historically remembered, and they’ve made history not just getting our first win but going to the round of 16.
