Goodbyes’: Siya Kolisi’s wife and kids move to Paris

Rachel Kolisi, the wife of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi revealed that she and her kids – Nicholas and Keziah are making their big move to Paris, France today – Saturday 19 August.

“After a week of devastating goodbyes, packing, working, holding space for my babies, farewells, and lots and lots of admin. This morning I woke up to this flower. The promise of a new season. My heart is super heavy, moving is very very hard. I’m throwing all my faith in Jesus in this season,” she wrote.

“Thank you to those who have checked in, and showered us with love and kindness. We are so grateful. Kez, Nic and I are moving to Paris today,” she continued.

WHY ARE THE KOLISI’S MOVING TO PARIS?
The Kolisi family is moving to France as Siya joins Racing 92 in Paris after the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.

“Rachel and the kids have sacrificed so much through my career and I am immeasurably grateful for this. The move to Racing 92 will enable me to spend more time with my family, which is something that I have longed for. And this prospect certainly played a significant part in my decision making,” he said in a statement according to The Kolisi Foundation.

7de Laan actor David Rees’ publicity manager, Corlia Strauss reveals that doctors are mostly happy with the actor’s progress, except the pulmonologist.

DAVID REES MANAGER: ‘DOCTORS ARE MOSTLY SATIFIED’
The talented 7de Laan actor David Rees’ publication manager also shared on his Facebook account on Saturday, 19 August that he is battling a lung infection.

“The doctors are mostly satisfied with David’s progress, except the Pulmologist. David is battling a lung infection. Hopefully it will clear within a few days. Thank you so much for the warm and encouraging messages,” she posted.

Strauss also revealed to TshisaLIVE that the actor’s family is grateful to those who have been by their side and all the well wishes have been shared with the Rees

“The family under these circumstances are doing OK. These circumstances are never nice. There’s the BackaBuddy fund. All the money has not yet been raised, but we are very thankful for what we have raised thus far.”

She also tells the publication that all the messages have been shared with Rees, they motivate him quite a bit and they are very thankful for that.

The family launched a BackaBuddy (crowdfunding page) to raise R500 000 for his medical bills. The public has donated over R84 000.

RIP: Eyadini Lounge owner Mjay laid to rest in Durban

In paying her tribute to Mjay, Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube said he was truly inspirational as a businessperson that grew up in uMlazi.

“He was an inspiration to many. He prioritised the needs of the community. He campaigned tirelessly for the eradication of crime. We worked with him on Gender-Based Violence and supporting orphanages. His bikers team were also involved,” said Nomusa.

“Eyadini has been part of a booming township economy for Umlazi and has also assisted in putting Umlazi township on the international map,” said Mmabatho Tembi MPL, the DA Constituency Head for uMlazi, adding that this legend in business is a massive loss for the township of Umlazi, Township Economy and the entire Durban Tourism Industry.
