Controversial Mzansi musician Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, better known as Shebeshxt‘s mother has revealed that the rapper knows his daughter has died.

 

 

 
Currently, Shebeshxt is receiving medical care at the Netcare Pholoso Hospital in Limpopo after his Volkswagen Polo crashed into a truck and overturned on the R37 road next to Smelters Mine in Limpopo on Saturday night.

Speaking to Sunday World, The artist’s mother, Mpho Chauke, shared that she was afraid to tell him that his nine-year-old daughterThe Twerka hitmaker was travelling from Polokwane to Lebowakgomo with his daughter, and his long-time partner, Kholofelo Chuene.

Following various reports about rapper Shebeshxt, real name Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke being involved in a serious car accident over the weekend, his family has confirmed the news.

In a statement shared with the media on Monday afternoon, the family said, “It is with deepest sorrow that we confirm that our beloved son Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, also known to his fans and supporters as “Shebeshxt”, had a tragic motor vehicle accident on 8 June 2024.”

The statement also revealed that the accident unfortunately claimed the life of his beloved daughter Onthatile. The family expressed grief and shock, describing Onthatile as “the angel that warmed up all our hearts.”

Shebeshxt is currently alive in the hospital and receiving medical attention.

During this difficult time, the Chauke family has asked for empathy, consideration, space, and time to cope with this tragedy.
He would have dropped them off at Kholofelo’s house before making his way to perform at an ANC Siyanqoba Rally celebration concert in Lebowakgomo. The event was scheduled for Sunday, 9 June.

“When I heard him talking only about his girlfriend, I thought maybe he was not aware until yesterday, when he mentioned to his friends that he was aware that his daughter is no more,” said Chauke., Onthatile Chuene, died in the car acci dent.The Ambulance rapper’s hospital fees are being paid by Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) president Julius Malema who demanded he be taken to a private healthcare facility after he was left unattended at a public hospital.“Shebeshxt does not have medical aid, so they took him to a public hospital, where he was not assisted for some time,” said a source revealed.

In a statement on Monday, the Chauke family confirmed Onthatile’s passing, adding that her death has caused them “utter grief.”

“It is with deepest sorrow that we confirm that our beloved son Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, also known to his fans and supporters as ‘Shebeshxt’, had a tragic motor vehicle accident on 8 June 2024.

The bereaved family appealed for your empathy, consideration, space, and time to deal with the unfortunate and tragic news. They further emphasized that Shebeshxt is alive, following a death hoax on Sunday.

“We are thankful for the outpouring support and upkeep we have received thus far, and we ask that you keep the family in your prayers.”

kay sibiya took a break from TV to focus on deejaying and realising new music FORMER Uzalo and Generation: The Legacy actor Khumbulani “Kay” Sibiya has not abandoned his acting career, yet.

The 36-year-old actor from Durban, who turned DJ in 2022, announced that he’ll soon be appearing on the small screen again.

 

 

 
Kay, who made his name playing Ayanda on SABC1’s most-watched soapie, Uzalo, and Siyanda Khoza in Generation: The Legacy, before he took a break from TV to focus on deejaying, has recently finished shooting a TV show.

“I can’t mention it now due to terms in the contract, but I’ll also be in a movie and will reveal more details at a later stage,” he said.

Acting is part of my life and people are still going to watch me on their small screens. I’m still in negotiations with one of the top soapies but for now, no agreements but if everything goes well, I might appear again,” he said.

Kay, who has appeared in other TV shows like Imbewu: The Seed and Lockdown Heights, noted that deejaying is different from acting.

“In deejaying or in the music industry, you always need to market yourself to be in the eyes of the people and for event organisers to recognise you.”He said another challenge is that many event organisers and others who book him still regard him primarily as an actor.

“I’m lucky because I do all this with love. It helps put food on the table,” he said.

In November 2023, Kay released his debut single titled Kuyabongwa and recently released a second single titled Athandwe.

He also shared that he’s preparing to release his debut EP next year.
