One thing that many people don’t know about Julius Malema is that outside of a political context, he’s a loving husband to his wife and the most amazing father to his kids. A few days ago, Malema and his wife were making waves on Social Media after they showed up in Durban with the most stunning outfits. The two were like a match made in heaven. Their photos have been trending all over social media as they are getting compliments left, right, and center.

As we know, people always have something to say. After Malema posted his photo on social media, some people decided to zoom in and noticed that the watch that Malema is wearing is very expensive; someone even said this watch cost plus or minus two million rands. Many people have been criticizing him, saying that the cost of his clothes, including the watch, is way more than his salary; some even said he is using VBS money because he was once implicated in VBS scandals.

This isn’t the first time when politicians trend for wearing expensive watches; a few months ago, Jacob Zuma was also trending after he showed up in the media wearing a watch that cost over a million dollars. The worst part is that by that time, he was busy asking for donations from people so that he could be able to pay his legal fees. Many people couldn’t understand why a person could wear a watch that cost millions when there are so many good things that you can do with that money.

However, I personally don’t have a problem with Julius Malema or his business interests or what and how he spends his money; my gripe with him and the EFF is how they continue to preach Marxist-Leninism while literally living the exact opposite of its principles. And also, another thing is that Even hip-hop artists rent jewelry for events like this, then later take it back. Is part of marketing for companies. So let’s not be quick to judge.
