Botlhale Boikanyo is now a familiar face because of her role as Omphile on etv’s flagship soapie Scandal!She has been playing the role since 2015, when she was only 14.
Many people were excited to see the young talent on television three years after her rise to stardom.Old pictures of Botlhale when she first graced Mzansi television screens at the tender age of 11 have reemerged online, and they have charmed South Africans.
Besides being a promising actor, the Scandal! Botlhale is also an exceptional poet, and her poetic prowess is what opened doors for her in the entertainment industry.
In 2012, she threw the gauntlet and joined the television show SA Got Talent as an unknown 11-year-old girl with big dreams. As the cliche says, she was indeed dynamite wrapped in a little package.
With her astounding talent, the innocent-looking little girl took Mzansi through the cutest unforgettable time on television. With their hearts melting, South Africans had no option but to vote for Botlhale Boikanyo to win the 2012 South Africa’s Got Talent, and she walked away with R250,000.
Her journey did not stop there. Riding on her newfound fame, Botlhale released her poetry album, Spoken Word and Music, in 2013.The album won a Best Praise Singer nod at the South African Traditional Music Awards and she lost out on the Best Poet gong.
In 2015, she became the youngest winner at the South African Music Awards (SAMA), as she walked away with the Best Traditional Music Album for her body of work, Spoken Word and Music.The same year, she joined Scandal!, and Botlhale Boikanyo has morphed into a South African darling.
