The 38-year-old Manguzi, northern KZN-based actor told Daily Sun that his family had warned him to exercise caution in public because people despise his on-screen character. “For some people, a character that you play well becomes real. Nyawo has stolen significant dockets from the police station storeroom, When provincial police leaders inspect the station they are shocked to discover evidence and dockets missing.

Nyawo is chosen to serve as the station captain in the interim after Mondli, the local police captain, is held accountable and arrested for corruption. The events have upset viewers to the point where some of them have expressed their hatred for Nyawo on social media. Cebolenkosi said that his loved ones are concerned for his safety.

He said, “My mother knows I’m just acting, but she’s from the village and she knows many people aren’t informed about certain things. She called to tell me to be cautious because she thought Mondli’s fans might attack me, but I reassured her that she needn’t be concerned. I told her to be proud of her son and that it was just acting.
