Nosipho Silinda, a former SA Idols contestant, has decided to try her hand at acting after landing a part in The Queen Mzansi. Silinda will play Cici, according to the Daily Sun, and she said it has always been her dream to branch out in the industry and do more than just music.
In August 2018, Nosipho had to drop out of grade 11 in order to compete in season 14 of the singing competition Idols SA. Gallo Record Company signed Nosipho to a recording contract. In season 14 of SA Idols, Silinda finished in the top six. When she broke into the top 10, she was offered a recording contract, which she accepted in April 2019.
She described her character as follows: “Cici will go to any length to achieve her goals. That is one thing I believe we have in common. Sections of her are totally different from who I am, which was fun to play around with.”
Silinda expressed her delight in bringing her character to life and expressed her eagerness for audiences to see her. According to the publication, the musician prepared for this role despite having no prior acting experience.
Nosipho is linked to singer Cici Twala, who is her aunt, and she said in a 2020 interview with that she always wants to collaborate with her and that she learns a lot from her.
