‘No one cares about us’ – Senzo Meyiwa’s family breaks the silence

The family of Senzo Meyiwa has expressed their frustration over the repeated delays and postponements in his murder trial. They believe that justice is being denied to Senzo and their family.

The family has stated that they are losing hope and feel that no one cares about their plight. The Meyiwa family has been waiting for justice for over six years since Senzo was murdered in October 26, 2014. The family has been attending court proceedings regularly, only to be met with delays and postponements.

The family has expressed their disappointment with the justice system, stating that it is failing them.

The family has called on the authorities to expedite the case and bring those responsible for Senzo’s murder to justice. They have also appealed to the public for support in their quest for justice.

The Meyiwa family is determined to continue fighting for justice for Senzo, despite the setbacks they have faced.

Nomalanga Meyiwa, the sister of the slain goalkeeper, said they’ll have to wait another 10 years to find out what happened to Senzo. Nomalanga was speaking to reports at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, and was reacting to yet another postponement of the soccer star’s murder trial.

Last month there postponement, and the trial was scheduled to resume this month. However, an announcement was made the presiding Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela is unwell, this caused a delay in the murder trial.

In the gallery, Senzo’s family traveled from KwaZulu-Natal to hear this week’s testimony from the state’s fifth witness Zandile Khumalo, the sister of Kelly Khumalo.

Zandie was in the house when Senzo was shot and killed but another development has stalled the trial once again – this time the delay was caused by the Judge’s health.

Senzo’s family says they’ve been waiting more than 8 years for this trial and this latest delay is frustrating. The trial is expected to continue from 17 July and will be set for the remainder of the third term.
