New Born Babies Placed In Boxes At The North West Hospital

A Photo taken from a South African hospital surfaced on social media and the situation left people worried on the comments section.

Madoda Sambatha, a North West Health Member of the Executive Committee (MEC), will begin a probe into the Mafikeng Provincial Hospital incident in which staff put newborn newborns in boxes.

This allegedly occurred in the neonatal department of the hospital, where nurses allegedly put the infants in the boxes rather than incubators or cribs.

The incident happened on Sunday around noon, according to the first results of an internal investigation conducted by the hospital.

It is the first time the Department of Health has reported such an event, and Tebogo Lekgethwane, a spokesperson for the department, said plans are being made for extra cribs.
